Hi bigjuss,

Heard the other day that the restrictions have been relaxed recently,

but at the moment that's only hearsay :-(

If you've had the car registered in your name over 5 years, that helps.

There will be lots of info to follow.

Good luck,

Navek

If you contact the Classic Car Club here in the TRNC then they will be able to tell you as to what the requirements are. If you type Classic Car Club into the search window at the top of this page then you should be able to see all previous postings about importing cars of 25 years of age or more into the TRNC.

The Classic Car Club will have the most up to date information.

when we did ours, we could pay a fee and keep it on UK plates for a year. after which time (we have 2 months left) we have to decide whether to pay the tax or to take it out again. the tax was really high when we were first quoted but there have been changes so will check again next month but expect we will pay it. mines not a classic car tho so you would do well to speak to the classic car bloke like bridie says.

Bigjuss, we paid nothing to bring in our VW, as it was duty free in those days if you were retired. That was in 1983.
