if i offend anybody , too bad , because at this moment in time i could'nt give a flying fig . it comes to something when decent , helpful, and humerous people that have become friends on this board , are leaving the forum due to a few non descripts , who think they are so clever , and that they can say whatever they like , insult whoever they like and get away with it , wrong ! wrong ! wrong ! , not any more . there are people on this forum who enjoy a healthy friendly debate , and that is normal behaviour , and , there are people who for what ever reason think that by being such know it alls , being confrontational and downright rude , and by using bully boy tactics they are being so clever and think they are superior. they know who they are , i have no desire to mention them as to do so might just give them a false sense of importance , and they are so full of themselves already . but i for one am not going to sit back and watch valued members leave and keep quiet about it.

regards , simbas

Hi Pat, nice to see you posting. I know i don't post as much as some of the members on the forum, I pick and choose when to post but read all the time. I haven't posted as much recently because I find it hard getting involved with some of the discussions for obvious reasons. I would prefer to post on a thread if someone is asking for help or even start a thread asking for help. I have gathered so much info from this forum but I'm afraid most of it was gathered in the early days of my membership.

Regards.

John.

It's sad, of course, that other members have decided to leave the Forum - I do find this Forum quite interesting and informative - but please why do you take these cyber bullies too seriously - just ignore them - Slipper tried to have a got at me - so what!!!

I totally agree Simbas, the insults aimed at you in particular by one imbecile were disgusting and very offensive, what ever happened to respect and common decency. It seems odd that a couple of the culprits are aged 38, you would think at that age they would know better yet they behave like schoolchildren.

It seems that the trash from some other boards have decided to try to wreck this one and it is so sad, not to mention frustrating, it certainly gets to me at times but I have decided that however low these idiots sink I will ignore them. As a said in a previous posting, pehaps if we ignore them they will crawl away and disrupt someone else. I see that a couple of new members are moderated so at least they know what to expect if they continue with their stupidity.

Get a grip woman!

We all know you girls can multitask, unlike us men!

Most trouble comes from only about 5% of posters. Yourself and other 'Moderators' have been very forgiving since I have been a member.

Maybe the time is right to exercise your powers and start 'Red' carding, rather than 'Yellow'.

p.s. Tonight I am cooking a vegetarian bake:

Serves 4.

Preheat oven to 180C.

Slice & fry 2 medium Aubergines, unpeeled, in olive oil until lightly browned.

Place in the bottom of an ovenproof casserole dish.

Layer with 200g small Vine/Cherry/plum tomatoes, halved if on the large side.

Add about 75g chopped Sun dried tomatoes with some of their oil.

Add about 100g sliced black olives.

Season to taste and put in oven for 20mins.

Remove from oven, add 150g roughly chunked Fetta or similar.

Sprinkle with olive oil, return to oven until Fetta starts turning colour, about 10/15mins.

Serve with warm crusty bread and lots of fresh herbs.

Yum Yum!

If someone posts a message and then some idiot replies (with soemthing rude) - it's easy just ignore the reply and carry on - they will soon get bored if they are ignored but if these people see that people get upset and offended then they have won really haven't they!!

Simbas - I, like many others, feel very sorry and sad that you feel like this, but I can fully understand, particularly in the light of some recent offensive postings. I do not post very often, but always read. I admire the way you take time to always welcome new members to the forum. I have noticed, over recent months, that quite a few of the "old members" seem to have deserted this forum, which is sad because a lot of them gave very sound, helpful advice. Over the past couple of years we have found the information offered on here invaluable. A sorry state of affairs now.

Best regards

I would ask for the moderator to ban this and others now.

Mods

Red card

This is an information board. And a place for free speech, I agree.

But having a go at members just for the hell of it to stimulate response is bollocks. And sad.

C'mon. A bit of refereeing here please.

Wonder why other members dont post?

Tighten it up please.

Simbas....

Just got home after a wonderful day out here in sunny TRNC and am upset to see your opening post.

I think all those that support you are of the mind that when the idiot members on this board start their stupid antics the best thing to do is ignore them and not even bother to react to their postings.

People like this tend to thrive on attention. If we all put our fingers on the "Z" key (zzzzzzzzzzzzz!!) they will not have the opportunity to respond!!

I know I for one would not want to loose you as a valuable member on this board and I believe you are a strong character not to let these bullies win....so....deep breath and remember...tomorrows another day!!

Keep smiling.

Simbas,

Sorry that you're feeling low.

It may go against the grain, but could I suggest that you (and everyone else that reads this!) report any offensive posts to the Moderators straight away?

As Ukturk mentioned to me, neither he nor Izzet can read every single post on every thread, but if you tell them that you have been offended, then I am sure that they will act swiftly.

It's not being a 'snitch' (Oh God, back to my Schoolyard analogy again!) - without some feedback from the decent contributors, they have a much more difficult task.

Brst regards,

Keith.

keithcaley....

Snap! I have just this minute finished emailing the moderators on this subject.

I have mentioned concerns that the decent members are becoming fed up at the continual attacks by some towards others.

It is not helpful and I am sure what is going on at the moment is not what the moderators set up this board for.

Forget the freedom of speach blah.....certain people on this board are totally out of order to be so rude towards the decent folk posting on here.

I for one do not give them the satisfaction of responding to their juvenile comments....after all that is what they thrive on.

It's called attention seeking.

Once upon a time there used to be something called "respect" for other people's views....some members should remember that and not throw their teddies (and insults) when they can't get their own way.

Hi Simbas, I've gone from message one to here. I did not need to read the other'smessages tonight as you have everything covered. Yes, it is a shame that due to the minority the majority are either not posting or leaving. I do believe that this will all peter out shortly and it will be back to the forum I joined early in the summer. Keep your pecker up love.xxxx

hi pat

i know how you feel you get upset i get angry cos its like banging your head against the wall, at the end of the day the forum is a victim of its own success which is a catch 22 postion cos when it was not so popular it had a close nit community and it was like a social gathering, but now it has got popular you have some newbies and newish forum members on here that have the mental capacity of a 14 year old, which is a shame cos like i said i slowed right down in reading and posting not just cos of some sutipity but also pointless and repeating subjects

i know you dont claim you know everytihng that is spoken about on the forum, but you are welcoming and frinendly sometimes too freindly not that it is a bad thing!!!!! and i remember someone saying u remind him like a mother hen, but sorry to say even a good hens dont always hatch good eggs!!!!

wot will happen if this forum gets much worse, then all the old members will drift off and the idiots will stay

keith's mssge 35 was spot on!!! i havent got the man hours to filter thru every single post so if anyone spots a offensive remark by anyone just email the forum

even now on this subject i have noticed a sarcastic remark i wont say who or wot or even if it was a typo im just deleting it and not giving them the spot light before anyone else notices it

so on my last say pat girl turn that frown upside down and try not to take it to personal and remember the abusive forum members were spoon fed retalin when they was young!!! lol

warm regards

Hiya Pat,

I'm not sure it makes any difference to make this stand against the losers who want to throw insults left right and centre. It obviously feeds a need in them to make touble. I agree its best to ignore them. Its so easy for people to do this on here on not face to face!!!

Thankyou for your continued support that you giive to all of us on here.

I know just how you feel Simbas. There is really no place for personal

attacks on anyone on such a website. Most people, like yourself, are

helpful and courteous, and even if I too have been hurt by remarks, and

attempts to belittle, I will continue to post on whatever interests me. If I

can also help anyone it is my pleasure to do so. Do not despair. You have

a lot of support.

when i first joined this forum, i was telephoned and told that if i didn't work with the other rival business's then i was over and wouldn't survive here in the trnc. all they wanted to do was earn a commision from me. i was gobsmacked with this coming from other brits. told the person where to get off. i don't take being threatened well. this person has posted a few sarky remarks. i just give as good as i get. after all they are a joke and so is their business. chin up simbas, just give as good as you get.

Pat

I know exactly how you feel. I don't post or read as much as I used to. I really feel I have to read and re-read everything I post now for fear it may be taken the wrong way and some bright spark come back with an insult or turn around the contents of my post to mean something entirely different to its original meaning.

I normally read the title, the first post and if I can help then read the rest of the replies, otherwise I just ignore it and carry on with the next.

I really do hope things settle down and improve.

Take care
