all depends on how you use it, If you have thermal block construction.....in other words how long is a piece of string. For our well constructed place with Ytong bricks! 1 hours morning and 1 to 2 hours at night 6 weeks approx...We have a bunglaow 159sq mtre, and 3 bedrooms.....

I would imagine that maybe just may be one could judge usage in Cyprus as it is milder compared with UK. As an Example I can estimate my utility bills in Cyprus more than UK and normally not far out !!

I bought a gas bottle for my gas heater upstairs just before Christmas. I can't be bothered carrying it upstairs because it hurts my knee lifting it so I've just been wearing more clothes

It's nice and toasty warm downstairs where we have gas CH.

Gas expensive enough without sometimes receiving bottles which are often short in gas content ! Will soon be necessary to take the bathroom scales with me when shopping.

Nick,

Did they insist they fill your tank or is that a part fill. We have a 1000ltr tank and they said we have to fill it or they will not deliver. Is there more than 1 supplier.

We use Intergas and although they prefer to do a fill they will do a part fill.

Also if you agree that you will fill your tank 4 times, during the winter, you get the gas at a cheaper rate.

skybluesam .. Donīt know which gas supplier you use ..

Filled up our tank 3 weeks ago .. 1.46TL per litre .. We use Jetgaz ..

Panchocat ... Message 14 ..

Can gas be obtained from other suppliers or are you tied to the original tank supplier .. In our case Jetgaz ..

When the gauge shows 2 (assume 200 litres) gas has to be ordered .. 650 litres fills the tank ..

When you say fill your tank 4 times for a cheaper rate .. What would be the minimum fill up ..

We filled our tank on the 15th October and have been using it everyday since once in the morning and on in the evening from about 5 till 10pm still got 100 litres left and the boiler is almost turned up full most of the time. Heating is on most of the day at weekends. Our house is constructed of the normal brick and render design no insulation what so ever. We used to have an old Baykan boiler and recently changed it to a condensing boiler which has obviously made the difference. This year will be looking at thermal insulation slabs (compressed foam) to insulate the walls from the inside and this should make an almighty difference.
