Was over the south and inquired about opening an International Account.

The guy I spoke with mentioned he'd need to see my passport but as it has temp residency stamps I simply told him I didnt have it with me.

I was told the passport was needed for checks?

Anyone been through this before?

What do they check?

You can open an account in the south registered at your UK address no problem, or a south address if you have one, but they won't as far as I am aware accept north address'

They will want proof of ID, i.e. passport, and proof of address, i.e. utility bill etc.

It's not a problem having a residence stamp, my bank there know where I live.
