In June I let my flat to an old friend/colleague at a nominal

sum which she was happy with. She stayed most of the month

& left it in good condition. I arrived few days after & she texted me

that she had to fly urgently to Istnbul & left the rent & key with a friend

who would phone me & deliver both. This did not happen & although

I have the email of the person she left key with, I am getting no response

from him. He has claimed to have left them with management co. but

they have no knowledge of it. He is said to have receipt from the company

but without it they cannot know who took possession of my key & money.

His name is on the email which my friend sent me. I wonder if anyone

knows him or his whereabouts. I did ask my friend to leave key/money

with my friends who care for my flat but she was hoping to see me.

She informs me that her 'daughter' (godchild) is in a coma in Istnbul

so I do not want to bother her at this time. But I must know where is my

key! Perhaps someone in N.Cyprus knows him - Ahmet Bozkurt

Hi all,

I would not care if his godchild is in a coma, it does not take 5 mins to drop some money and a key off, he could be using that as an excuse.

i agree that you got to have the keys back, you should not delay it and do something about it. may be going to police or calling your friend as suggested above.

Yes. My son & friends there now in flat, but will arrange to change locks

as soon as they go.

It's my friend whose godchild (she calls daughter as she supports her & is

all she has got) is in coma in Istanbul, where she says she is 'tied up'

I believe she is honest but don't know about her 'friend' as I don't know him

Maybe it is a police matter now

Thanks all anyway for your help and advice.

I just wondered if anyone local knew who/where he is.

Phyl I would get the locks changed straight away and forget about the money. This person could do more damage by moving into your apartment when your son has gone. Hopefully your friend will sort out the money if you cant get hold of this man.

Forget the money and treat it is another experience of life.

Do not bother with police, probably a false name anyway.

Yes, the key is more worrying, although flat's been empty for few

weeks and nothing missing. I think it must be his real name as it's

on his email address. The fact he hasn't contacted me or replied to my

emails makes me feel uneasy though.
