My Kenwood Chef (big one) has just run out of guarantee in December and today will not work. Have done all the normal things like the fuse etc. and still no joy, not even a peep

I will be lost without it as I have to make my own bread for dietary reasons.

Does anyone know where there is a Kenwood repairer or at least some clever person who might be able to fix it?

Would appreciate any advice or help with this problem.

Have you checked that the wires inside the plug are all attached and screwed to their connectors firmly?

Did you try two or three different fuses, as sometimes even a new fuse can be faulty.

Have you read the troubleshooting page in the user manual?

Usually, there is an overload switch that pops out if there is overload on the motor [armature]?

I seem to remember that 'Orphanides' do repair for Kenwood.

Hi everyone, I solved it!!!

\on the front of the mixer there was a panel, when I popped it out and looked inside (I think this bit is where you would put a sausage extruder if you had one) I just turned the spindle gently and then tried it again,

It worked, but I think there could be a break in a wire somewhere. We will wait and see,

My today's bread was disastrous, not properly risen at all, simply cannot knead properly as have arthritis in fingers so it is imperative to have my mixer working.

thanks to you all

Hi Suehowlittle,

If the problem persists you can bring it to TECHMAR for our technicians to have a look. We have been importing Kenwood for over 10 years and are the sole agent in North Cyprus.

Sue, it may just be some dough had got into the sausage extruder and clogged the spindle somehow. By turning it manually, you may well have fixed the problem
