Yesteday and today have downloaded programmes from BBC i player and when check on laptop appears that full episode is downloaded but then discovered that the VPN link has crashed.

Even watched it downloading with say an hour to go the 5 minutes later it tells me it`s fuuly downloaded, which I know it`s not.

Just asking if this is a common problem or just another cunning plan by Nethouse.....

Hi Looseboots

MY VPN is and has been running fine for YEARS..

It works just fine with iplayer

I wish I could help you more.... I have no idea why some Nethouse clients have no issues - when others do - other than WHERE they connect ?

Could it be that you might have an issue with iplayer as well ?

IF you haven't done this

1/ Un-Install Iplayer and reboot

2 /re-install iplayer

3/ update to the latest version of Windows media player..

I am halfway through downloading a programme and have discovered that ( still using your VPN,hope that`s ok) when downloading I can go on Cyp 44 , go on facebook......look on google but if I go on to MSN messenger to check my e.mails...............it knocks the VPN out and subsequently stopps the download.

Just wondered if you had any thoughts on that.other than my laptop is rubbish..........

Don't use MSN messenger ? ... ;)

Seriously, I've heard this before.. :(

What happens if you log in to messenger by first going to MSN/ Windows Live - when already running the UK VPN - and then trying to log in ?

Although I use and love Chrome, I use Opera for downloading from iPlayer because if the download stalls or crashes it can be restarted. iPlayer downloads are notorious for stalling or going into error and chrome thinks it's failed.

give it a try.... it's very good.
