I could have sworn that it had been around for a while now. Maybe it depends where your Skype a/c is registered. I know companies roll out new services at different times in different countries.

I have been using it for a while in the UK, but it is NOT available in Turkey (TRNC).

We have been using it for years now as we live in TRNC full time. It's great. If you pay for the package for 1 year up front it only costs £19.50 for unlimited calls any UK landlines - that's all 01 and 02 numbers (so not mobiles etc). You also get an ansaphone in the package. You choose your number so 0161 for Manchester and so on. People can then call you on your chosen number the same as a call would be to any UK phone number eg a call to a 0161 number would be a local call for anyone in Manchester to call. If someone in the Uk has free evenings and weekend calls they will actually be able to call you for free !

As usual. Skype to Skype calls are free but a big attraction of this service is that non Skype users (and non computer users) can call you cheaply or for free.

We also have used the settings to divert our calls from skype to our trnc mobile so we don't miss any calls but there is a small charge for these calls.

Which countries is Skype To Go available in?

Skype To Go numbers are currently available in Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States.

Skype to Go is different in that you are not using a Skype phone to make the call, you're using a normal landline or mobile to phone preset numbers and the charge comes off your Skype credit instead of your mobile contract.

But have you TRIED comparing a SKYPE call via POTS - phone system - compared to a dedicated voIP system or Skype to Skype..



Folks using SKYPE-IN are shocked when I tell 'em to hang up and I'll call them over SKYPE or a REAL voIP service, the call quality is SO much better.



Best advice - call you friends up on this service and arrange to do a skype-to -skype - you'll HEAR the difference and one of you will save money.
