I think I would be happier letting my coward of a cat stay at home with someone coming in to feed him/turn the heating on for a bit/ rather than put him somewhere strange which would freak him out. He tends to hide under the coffee table if he so much as hears other cats outside! Are catteries here heated? This cat doesn't like the cold, and sleeps under my quilt wrapped round my feet every night. Some days I have got up, gone out to lunch and come back, and he is STILL fast asleep under the quilt!!

Why? Do husbands normally hide under coffee tables?

Depends on the wife.

I think cats are quite happy in catteries if they are good ones. At least you don't have to worrry.

Have you got a cat or a mouse ? Either way it seems overindulged.

He was a happy, confident cat before his soul-mate Korky vanished last June. He isn't the same cat anymore, he's become very insecure and clingy, but I wouldn't say he's overindulged - just loved very much. This probably sounds nuts to anyone who isn't a 'cat person'!

Spoilt comes to mind. If it were a child it would be a brat ! But it isn't....it's a C A T.

Claire. It doesn`t sound nuts to me. I have two cats who are treated just the same.

It doesn't sound nuts to me either. We "cat"people obviously see the world a different way, and I know which I prefer. In the evening, when Eastenders finishes, and the title music comes on, mine all stretch, get up, clamber to get on the grooming table first for the last brush of the day, and then all troop off to my bed. I come soon after when I've done my bedtime grooming.!

Sorry I forgot to add, that I met the couple who run Cool Cats and they seemed very nice, but I have not been to their cattery. I believe they only have cats, which would be better for most cats, as hearing dogs bark all the time can be quite upsetting for them.
