US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried said after visiting cyprus,the US want to see a reunified island. We support a bizonal bicommunal federation, one nation, one citizenship, an undivided country.

The purpose of his trip was to demonstrate the support of the United States for the efforts of the two leaders, President Christofias and Mehmet Ali Talat.



Fried said the US is supporting the process ''by making clear to all parties that we think this is the right track, that constructive practical steps now leading to more steps in the future is the right way ahead.''



"Supporting the process" or has the meeting between the two presidents been carefully choreographed ?

i think the usa needs to get its own house in order, and stay out of other peoples business. they must have a serious interest in cyprus somewhere? maybe it is a new military base.

There has never been only one nation in Cyprus and it will never be.

There are two many differences to try and merge all under one umbrella.



Recent event in former Yugoslavia is a clear indication that this does not work in reality.
