He hardly mentioned the performance of the Gypsy Brothers - just the performance of the mostly British (I presume as I wasn't there) audience. Not complimentary!

To put it in a nutshell Hans was saying that the Gypsy Brothers may as well not have turned up as some people were not interested, a lot of talking going on and no appreciation of the performance. Thats how I read it anyway.

The Gypsy Brothers have been around long enough to know that any audience, whatever nationality they may be, will not sit quietly throughout their performance, people have gone out with partners or friends and naturally will want to talk to each other. These guys are on stage for quite a long time, I'm pretty sure they don't expect people to sit in silence all evening.

If DC can't grasp that then perhaps he should just stay at home instead of having a go at other people.

It's quite transparent to someone who isn't lodging in anyone's campsite that posters (in chronological order) MaggieAndBernie, rigsby, Blackbird, yenibob, hattikins and Pugwash are debating emotionally rather than factually. One of the clearest fallacies of argument is argumentum ad hominem, which loosely translated means arguing against the man rather than his argument.



If we ever get to read this review it will be interesting to see whether a dispassionate viewer will see it as "Brit-bashing"...

I was also there and it was a most enjoyable evening where we met up with a few friends.



We did notice however that the reviewer and his wife were sitting on their own, looking miserable.



Not exactly the life and souls of the evening.



Perhaps instead of criticizing the British enjoying themselves he should be learning from them.

msg 40, only ever been to two concerts in my life one was Alice Cooper (who is a bloke who sings soft metal) the other was a classical concert in the grounds of Tatton Park one evening. Both were very enjoyable.



People at the classical music concert still talked a bit.
