I checked my lottery ticket this morning and realized I had not won. I was really happy as I don't want my life to change.

Today we knew we were still living on a building site, with builders electric, tankered water, a lying builder etc, etc.

But we are happy living in a great little country where the daily foibles always make us smile. So just being here made my day.

Today it did not rain in the UK, (or at least where I was!) Now that made me happy. A little sunshine lifts spirits and makes peoplle smile.

Had a flood in my house in January, new floors laid in March, had a small problem with floor in May, an even bigger one in June and it was supposed to have been sorted, it felt like a trampoline, laid with no space around skirting board and have just had half the floor relaid to today. Now I am happy.

North Korea getting a new missile site sort of cheered me up, looking forward to the new loft installation package Gordon Brown is going to give me to help with the utility bills, cancelled the trip to France as the Channel Tunnel caught fire, rang up friend who lost parents in 9/11 attack to remind him what date it was, couldn't believe Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England said inflation was going to rise again from the current 4.4%.

That can't be right, as a Silly Servant, Gordon told me I had to have a 2% pay rise for the next 3 years to keep inflation down.

Golly! He must have got that wrong.

Gosh, how we laughed at that! Silly Gordon!

Oh, and its started to rain again.

Happy, oh yes, I remember happy.

Hattikins being from the north of engalnd poor and in sack cloth and ashes you have to have a sence on humour, I have worked with Jewish people most of my life and one thing I have learned is laugh at yourself as others will deligight in doing it so lear to live with it.

Nige

Sack cloth and ashes, you must have lived in our street !!!!!!

Someone asked me once if we were poor when I was younger, I have no idea because we were all the same so how could I judge whether we were or not.

jackeen..look at this way, at least you got to the interview stage so something must have been right co you application form, otherwise they probably wouldnt have answered your letter, which seems to be the norm nowadays...
