I've heard that from the 27th sept to the 5th Oct is national holiday week. Is this true and if so does everything shut up shop for the duration.

30th Sept, 1st and 2nd Oct is the end of Ramadan - schools are closed just for these 3 days.

As for shops - I cant say for sure what the rules are- but I was surprised last year that all gambling shops stay open though!!!! Think one of the days is like sunday trading - hopefully someone else can help. sorry.

The 30th, 1st & 2nd are bank holidays. But the shops & petrol stations will probably only be shut on 30th. Some food shops will still be open.
