Yet another Petrol Price increase. This is the 4th or 5th rise so far in a month or two.

The government has put up the "97 octane petrol" price to 2.45tl. per litre.(prev 2.38tl).

Now the south is cheaper on petrol + better quality for sure. They get EU controls we get ???? controls.

ROC, 1.179 Euro for 95 Octane. Still not worth crossing just to fill up. Though I am at the point where I fill up whichever side of the line I am on.

I cant understand why they would do this as the average income in NC. is far below that of the south so all they are doing is affecting everyone on NC and the worst hit will be the locals.

How about we all re-think our weekly schedules and see if we can't make less short trips out to the shops etc.... A sort of 'don't take the car day' once a week to reduce journeys, reduce pollution, reduce the tax burden and save the planet.....

Even better, why not get together with neighbours and take turns in shopping by car each week. This would foster better friendships whilst achieving net savings.

That seems very reasonable Gavin. Could you pick me up a bag of sugar and a copy of Cyprus Today please?

I will pay you when you drop them off.

Cheers

Did any of you miss the point that crude oil is increasing fast these days?

Paying the going rate is one thing but it would be easier to take if the fuel was of proper quality.

It's the same everywhere. Friends in the UK are horrified by the prices they pay here. I guess the governments here have simply failed simple economic models time and time again. Petrol here was half of what it is now just five years ago, I've been told. I know it's gone up globally, but not that much (except for the occasional glitch).
