The stamps state that you are a "VISITOR"

You need to keep your old passport with the stamps in and when you get the new passport you will have to go immigration again with both so that they can re-stamp the new one.

Once you have your new passport it is acceptable to present both when entering/leaving TRNC until you renew your residency. That will save you an extra visit to Immigration.

It is worth mentioning that you should keep your old passport if it has been used for identification purposes on contracts, etc in TRNC, you may have to produce it at a later date.

Make sure you send by check and send at the post office, I have just done this and then paid £3.00 extra to have my old documents sent back, if you do pay for it to be sent back it does not mean you will automatically get it, put a letter enclosed saying that you have important information in there and would like to receive it back to you with your new passport, if not they will not give it to you.

Why not renew here. I*t may cost a little more, but depending on when the Passport expires, it could be easier to have everything done here.

All the advice about keeping the passport with relevant stamps is very true, but who throws passports away, anyway. They contain wonderful information of trips around the world for some of us.
