I think you are meant to pay a registration tax at the New Harbour for a boat trailer

When our friends took their car in for its MOT (a new vehicle). It had a towbar and the police mechanic asked them where the trailer was. My friend said I do not have a trailer, I have just bought this vehicle and the towbar was already fitted. What a shock when the policeman said, well if you do not have a trailer, which also would need to be MOT's then you must, by law remove the towing tackle.

What a silly law this is. If my friends ever buy a trailer now they will have to pay again to have it re-fitted.

We have a tow bar fitted to our vehicle. Whe we went to have the car mot tested last May nothing was said about the towbar at all. Think it all depends on who is on duty that day and what sort of mood they are in.......
