From now on this'll be my strategy on Cyprus 44:

1 : I publish in a new thread what I want (within the C44 rules),

2 : I'll ignore silly/malicious remarks in such a thread,

3 : I'll only reply to questions in the thread with a (requested) link or via email/Skype/phone to (real) people.

Hi Dutch Crusader good morning.

I am not aware of the background that prompted your mail, but could I ask you to reconsider.

your contributions are always interesting, usually informed, such postings and interaction with other contributors are the life blood of C44.

regards

Doug

Don't worry Doug, he goes like this a couple of times a year at least it never lasts long.

Good morning to you too, Doug!

The background of my decision is - after re-reading quite a lot of posts on this board - that it seems not possible (not only for me) to write a friendly or debate provocating message - without the usual bunch waking up to fire from the hip at the poster. They hardly ever start a post themselves and just wait to get personal, silly and/or malicious. Reading many idiotic posts it's hard to believe that the art of debate was invented in ancient Greece and developed to great heights in the UK (England).

Kind regards, Hans Doeleman

"provocating" in msg 4 should read "provoking", I'm afraid. Furthermore it's already time for Rule 2 of message 1.

The headmaster has spoken, so would you all do as you are told ! or you'll be put in a straight bracket.

It is a pathetic response from an apparently grown man, who yet again (and again) hoped he would get so many "please don't do that DC" responses, how many times have we seen this on 44 and other boards? yet he still attacks other posters on a regular basis and belittles them for asking innocuous but relevant questions, very sad.

Obviously this poor man craves attention, he should be pitied not ridiculed.

Only someone seeking attention and responses would even have made a post like this, otherwise just "do it"
