hi all

I went to the north cyp in may last year and I'm due to go over again soon. Basically last time I was out I reckon the word got out within the whole of the northern mosquito community that a banquet has just arrived in town. For the next three days they feasted on every part of my body. I could do with knowing if they are as hungry this time of year (so I could take the necessary precautions; ie. long-johns and a bellaclarva!!).

Haven't seen one for weeks...

They don't like Coconut... so buy some Coconut based shampoo when you get here and use it all over... it only cost about 5 YTL for 1.2 litres from Lemar.

cheers groucho....

.... but being bald as I am will prob make that a non-starter. I'll stick to marmite and sleep with my electronic insectonator by my side.

They are biting over this side Groucho, also the sandflies seem to have come out for a second go.

So advice is cover up with whatever suits best, lycra body suits look nice and would be perfect with same balaclava!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, it is personal choice, what suits one is no good for next. I use Vape, available in local supermarkets and find it works for me. The boss covers herself from head to foot in clothes!!

We used Vapederm (light green bottle in the anti-mossie section of Lemar) a joint after sun & insect repellent this summer and found it very good - was recommended on one of the boards.

I get bit to pieces everytime I visit!

Try MosquitX, best place to buy it is at airports. It is the only thing that works for me, although this year I missed the backs of my legs & ended up having to visit the Pharmacist for a antihistamine injection due to a severe reaction to the bites. Best thing, within a few hours lumps went down with no itching.

Hope this helps.

the best stuff is a product by Avon its called skin so soft, you can get it on ebay, this stuff really works mosquitos hate the stuff, I used to work around the world in some mosquito ridden places, and while everyone else got bitten because they had bought what was supposedly good repelents, I was never bitten once, if you have not tried this stuff give it a whirl, I guarrantee it will keep the little bleeders away.

Hello

My regime is Vitamin B1 and Garlic capsules starting at least a week before you come, Avon Skin so Soft, Autan (yellow bottle, pink top, buy it in Cyprus) and plug-ins.

Best of luck

Jo Valentine
