Yoga means union between body, mind and spirit. Health, happiness and a feeling of freedom are the gifts that Iyengar yoga gives with each and every practice .





This method emphasizes correct alignment and awareness which develops flexibility, strength stamina and balance. Props are used in most of the asanas (postures) to help the student attain the best pose possible. An asana is not a posture which you assume mechanically and it involves thought to achieve balance between movement and resistance.





The yoga class is 90 minutes in length, twice a week. It includes a combination of the following types of the asanas:





Standing asanas for flexibility strength and stamina.

Seated asanas for a healthy back, poise and reflection.

Inverted asanas for circulation and stress reduction.

Breathing awareness and deep relaxation for energy and renewal.





I believe that if a method is valid and beneficial, it is a duty for any true yoga teacher to pass the knowledge of that method.
