Does anyone know if you can get gas refills/drink concentrates for a Soda Stream out there and where? Thinking of bringing one out with us.

Can you please email me if you find out an answer to this very important question, I would give anything to bring my Sodastream out here and it is only the availability of the gas which stops me. The very high cost of soda water here is why I need my Sodastream. Somewhere there must be someone who has the answer to this question. P L E A S E !!

I also would love to bring mine due to the high cost of the stuff here but cannot (in 6 years) manage to find a gas supplier (even in the South) I am sure that there must be someone somewhere selling the refills. Anyone any ideas?

You buy all the concentrates, such as cola, bitter lemon, tonic water etc and then put water into the little bottles and the gas carbonates the water making fizzy drinks for a fraction of the price here. As all my grandkids are guzzlers it would save us an absolute fortune when they come. Just buy lots of empty bottles and store them in the fridge. Great stuff, will go to Carreforre next week and have a look. Will post here when I find them (if)

went today to Carrefourre - they do not have them nor have they ever heard of them. Actually, went to lots of shops in the south and no-one has heard of them. Tried the link and contacted the firm but they must know where the email comes from cos they have ignored it Anyone else any ideas please? \If I could find someone to get the 'gas' filled, then I would risk bringing empty gas containers on the plane, surely they could not be a problem if empty.??

Just to add alittle information (not good news). The CO2 canisters for Soda Stream are BANNED from carriage onboard an aircraft. I have just been to the Security screening section for hold baggage at Dublin Airport and they have about 200 little canisters awaiting disposal. These have been seized from the checked in baggage of passengers. So do not bother to ask friends or family to bring them out to you on their holidays - chances are they will not get through. Sorry to be the bearer of even more bad news. DD

Mess 15: ring Thetaco - from my limited experience of this company regarding a warranty problem, they just don't answer e-mails, much like most businesses on this island!
