Erol normally closes this time of year, can anyone confirm if they are open or closed early February.

Hope that the new management maintain the very high standard of food, Erols was the best for meat. End of an era then from the sound of it...pity, but good luck to the new management.

Good morning all,

Totally agree with message 6, Erol's is our favourite restaurant and we would have liked it to go on and on without change, that is of course, very selfish, so trying to keep a stiff upper lip we live in hope that the new owners continue to provide the best restaurant experience on the Island.

It is still in erol's family, the new owner and erol are cousins, we have been twice since the changeover and nothing has changed.

This is a successful business with a proven formula, I spoke at length with the new owners and NOTHING is going to change at all, the only difference is that erol and caroline will not be there.

I know that they are both worn out and have been so hard working and wish them a long and happy retirement - no-one deserves it more than they.

sign posts all round Ozankoy

But head east from Ozankoy mosque through the one way street at theleft side of the Ozankoy bookshop by the mosque right up the hill at the end of the one way street and Erols is on the brow of the hill as you look towards the 5 finger mountains only open evenings closed Sundays

So the only one not now at Erols, is Erol.

We stopped going there because of the grumpy, off hand, your not a TC attitude. which we encountered on more than two occasions. Doubt if anything will change then, and there are so many more eating houses out there to choose from.

Was there not a thread on this a few months ago?

Hi Everyone good morning

Re message 13

I'm not sure what motivated your post but hopefully it gave you some enjoyment!

My Wife and I regularly eat at Erols and I can honestly say this "non TC" attitude you refer to has never been present during any of the countless evenings we have dined there.

Perhaps it's time to look at your behaviour, "do unto others etc,"

What motivated my post was that a thread was started on this site and I took a personal interest as I have been to the establishment in question on numerous occasions and felt me comments were relevant to the thread. Yes it did give me enjoyment posting on CYP44 or otherwise I would find something else to do.

I am pleased to hear you have enjoyed your meals at Erols, and may they long continue.

My behaviour (what ever that may mean?) is nothing to do with this unless, you are questioning my manners and the way I address resteruant staff in general. This also cannot be true and I am not known to you.

Your reply though, has given me the opportunity to expand on my posting in so much that, it may be possible that their overall attitude could be part of the reason for there lack of popularity.

Hi Michael

re the final sentence your posting 15.

based upon my own experience of dining out in several different restaurants over many years Erol's has always enjoyed a very high level of full tables.

I would be interested to hear from you which restaurants you had in mind when making your judgement on relative popularity.

CJTills problem WAS that Erols was not a nice experience, even though the food was good.

It really grates when you book a table for four people at 8pm and arrive on time, have a drink and the then give the waiter our order....ok so far. Then a large group (about a dozen or so maybe a few more) of locals arrive, have drinks and order and then get served before us. We waited over an hour for our main course (its only a steak x 4 people) whilst the other table are served. When questioned, the woman running the show advised us that they arrived first, and therefore should be served first. When the facts were pointed out to her in a calm and succinct manner by another member of our party, she started an argument and disputed the fact in a surly and aggressive manner. With such customer service, it made a splendid evening.

I suggest we discontinue this matter as its likely to get out of hand.....or shall we resurrect the old thread on Erols?.........Michael

If you have a bad experience you don`t go back and vote with your feet.

If you have a good experience you go back.

Sometimes it is not the food it is the reception and welcome you get or not.

A change of management may mean you will give it another try, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I don't think it is etiquette to post, don't go to an establishment because you had a bad experience ..

If you don't like it .. Don't go .. End of ..

Harita

What are you saying we are only able to post our good experience and not the bad ones ?

everyone enjoys different things so even if someone has a bad experience it should not stop anyone else trying it.

and if you have a bad experience vote with your feet and don't go back simples

Actually Doug, your message 26 says far more about you than message 19 does about Michael. It would seem that you are very intolerant of other people's opinions if they differ from your own. I'm sure you know the type

Hi Joan and Jelly, what a "spot on post"

I plead guilty as charged.

Congratulations on your transparency, I really respect those who do not hide their identity.

PS what's your doggy called?
