Hi Foster I dont beleive you can take them via Larnaca. I do know someone who brought them in via LCA. I read that figure and asked for time scale etc. xxx

Liz, first you have to have them micro-chipped by the vet. Then you have to have them innoculated against rabies, then after a month, a blood sample is sent to authorities in UK. They will then issue a certificate to say it has taken. You then have to wait 6 months before you can move the animals. If you want the correct details contact QUAFF (Quarantine Aboloition Fighting Fund). I can let you have their email address. Forget to say, if you are not taking them straight away, then you have to keep the rabies jabs going to the date every year. Mine have been done since we`ve been here.

You cannot take them via Larnaca.

Blood tests can be done in Ankara.

If the blood tests have to be done in Ankara, do the animals have to go in quarantine here, when they are brought back after the tests?

You can have your dogs bloodwork drawn here and have it mailed to a DEFRA laboratory. In order to satisfy the TRNC's requirements regarding rabies, whilst I was in Kosova I had the dogs' blood drawn in Prishtina and DHL'd to an UK lab. The results were emailed and DHL'd back to me and then I forward them to the TRNC. Piece of cake.

Alan msg 1- there are two routes out and in to the TRNC for pets. At IAH we are involved in pet transport as well as human flights.

If you want some direct information contact us at IAH info@flightholiday.co.uk or +44 1594 544 077 / 0871 855 2925 with your email basic information and a phone number.

We will help you if we can (with pets to or from North Cyprus) and if not we will introduce you off board to those who can help you.

They have a DEFRA recognised lab in Ankara. You send the blood there not the dog!
