Go to Magic Salon, next door but one to Mr. Pound and ask for Rachel. She is excellent at colouring hair.

Nag at the cutting rooms is brill, Neil Anthony new Harbour fantastic and english. Where do you live so we may direct you in the right locations. I love Ali next to Turk bank main Alsancak Lapta rd. His English is limited or airy fairy and a few others advertise here. They are all quite good, so cheap compared to UK x

Bonita's opposite Teachers Hotel , blow dry 20tl, English speaking London Cypriot in charge. Excellent with colour, and prices very fair and reasonable.

Or Femme, up from water fountain, I believe is 15tl - not sure about language.

Lots of good ones, but prices vary quite a bit.

La Femme is 40tl for colour as they have a big sign outside. i think 15 tl is for manicure.

Pamperyourself in Çatalköy is good and the cheapest by far

I would as a hairdresser like to make one comment about salons that are very cheap - the products used must also be very cheap ( cheap colours are genrally NOT good ! )

Just my opinion of course

Pamperyourself do not use cheap products they use top quality. their prices are just more in line with todays economy. mes 1 if you can get to Çatalköy go and try them i'm sure you won't be disappointed they are just pass supreme supermarket, they also are a beauty salon.

Naj only uses the top brands and Elif has just finished her city and guilds training so she is cheaper at the moment until she builds up her client base.

Absolutely, definitely, Naj at the Cutting Rooms. Fantastic at colouring and cuts. Trained and lived in UK before coming to TRNC. If she keeps getting recommendations though she might not be able to fit me in......and that would be a disaster!

Nac at the cutting room does not use cheap products airy -fairy. You know what they say in business don't knock the opposition.

Nac is short for Naciye and we know c is pronounced as j in Turkish, so Nac and Naj are the same person. (Sorry can't take the teacher out of me!!

She is an excellent hairdresser.

It's got to be Neil at n.a. in Girne new harbour. He's English, an absolute genius with cut and colour and also great fun. Telephone number 05338460659 or 05338424396, I wouldn't recommend anyone else but then that's just my opinion

Nulten Oral near HSBC in Kyrenia uses exactly the same products my hairdresser used in UK, and staff are trained to same standard.

If you want cheap, try Nulten Oral. They train students to City & Guilds. Students are are always supervised, it's a damn site cheaper and you'd be helping out hairdessers of the future. You'd need to check which days the students are in on.

Neil Anthony in my opinion is the best on the island. And his sense of humour will have you in stiches !!!

Not too far from the New Harbour.

Well you've certainly got a lot of choice.

Me? I can't afford Neil Anthony even though he is a lovely guy with a great sense of humour. So, I stick to my one with whom I am happy, and as lots of people ask me who does my hair because they are impressed, I guess I don't need to change.

You are going to have fun trying out all of these mentioned above. It would be nice to have a pictorial record on here!

Many thanks for all of your replies!

In the end I went to Closer Cut Hair and Beauty! It is run by a friendly English woman called Pınar and her husband Şahin and I honestly can't recommed them enough!

The cut and colour were both brilliant and I will definitely be going back.
