Does anyone out there know of any good deals on soft cat food? I know sometimes Supreme have "My Lady" for 1TL but not now.

I've 10 of the furry creatures and every kurus helps!

There is a shop on the road from the Lefkosa roundabout towards the Bellapais lights on the left hand side opposite Olivia apartments call Kar and they have the big tins of cat food at about 2.55, dont know the name of them as only noticed whilst picking up dog food which is 2.25 for the large tins.

Is there a difference between the British cats and the local cats in Cyprus. If you guys are not careful you will start a civil war between the cat populations. Stop feeding them so much. Let them fend for themselves otherwise they will be like Turkish Cypriots.

Last week I bought a pack of chicken livers (just over 2 lira) and boiled them up for our cats. We mixed it with the cheap 1 lira cat food and they loved it, normally they are dead fussy and will only eat the expensive stuff.

we bought some Mezgit from Erdener (for ourselves) It was so manky that we tried to feed it to our wild cats, they would not eat it.

These cats are not fussy at all, they feed from the bins but they still would not eat this fish and we are very happy that we did not eat it either. I bet it had defrosted and refrozen dozens of times, it was very grey when cooked and smelled very odd.

Only getting my fish from Lemar in future. and will dig to the bottom of the freezer for it!!!

Hi,

We also have 10 cats and they are forever hungry, it's far too many of course but what can you do. We feed ours on pasta and tinned tuna, tinned sardines (cheap at Illelli) or tinned cat food 1.35 at Lemar, a small tin with the pasta fills them up,sometimes I put left over vegetables in . we feed them twice a day. biscuits are 5lira 2.5 kilo at Perova nursery. there are cheap cat biscuit receipe's on the internet (if you can be bothered, I do sometimes) or I break up cream crackers they are really cheap at the moment 1.95 for 2 packets (several supermarkets) they are not fussy and will eat most things.

Good luck

brings a whole new meaning to the expression:

"you don't need to waste money on imported food - the local food is just as tasty and a third of the price"
