Hasipoğlu said that the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had issued statements as a result of the insulting placards opened during the 28th January demonstration.

Explaining that Mr. Erdogan was briefed on the issue, he said if there is a need, a visit would be paid to Ankara to provide further explanations.



Reminding that the economic package envisaging austerity measures was first brought to the country’s agenda by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) during its term in government, the UBP Secretary General said that the CTP’s support to the meeting and its participation at the mass rally in Lefkoşa was thought-provoking
