Can anyone help or advise. Trying to resolve our property promblem. in brief we are victims of Victoria Homes Reg Heybetli same site as Bob and Elaine Chittock. We have skeleton of a bungalow built on land that Victoria Homes had selling rights on. Unfortunately Reg Heybetli did not honour the contract with the land owner a Mr Ali Yolocan . I am told that Mr Yolacan has put an injunction on the land to stop all work. How do I find out when this injunction was placed on the land. We have tried to deal with Mr Y olacan to purchase our plot of land off him put he refused our first offer. Asking what he wanted we were unable to get an answer.

I can under stand Mr Yolacan frustration he is in a similar position to our selves, contract which will not be honoured. The whole situation is in limbo, what can be done. We have registered our plot with the TAPU and also with the PIO. Any suggestion to get this problem solved would to gratefully accepted.

Write to the local press as there is a lot of history with the main player in all this.

tps30,

It seems that you are a victim of the worst excesses of the construction industry in The TRNC.

I fear that the best advise would be to contact Marion Stokes at HPBG website.

I really am sorry at the dilemma that you face.

If I can be of any assistance whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact me , either on, or

off board.

Hi Sue, saw your post....

I know a man who can.

Pikey, (with all your expertise), could you help and do a press release on Sue's plight with this particular Victorian Homes development or non-development? It would assist her and others affected on that site. Please? x

who is the main player - Reg or Oscan Besok ? because it seems that Oscan is continueing to rip people off.

Why did Reg flee the island - do the police want him ?

Does he have any assett`s on the island ?

Which would be the best newspaper to contact.

Nige so you know this for a fact then? An injunction on that land?

Before I get into my post. Beshbok family. "Blonde bombshell" - do you remember us talking at the time of the elec problem? Me phoning you at your request from the UK with names of uncorrupt Police Officers with whom you could lay a complaint? And the allegations made by the Blonde one? And the advice given to you then? I could go on but I won't.

There is no injunction on the land that my villa stands on, by Besok (or Besbok -literal translation - look it up) but there again a blessing in that he does not own the land.

So how can you be sure there is an injunction on Sue's land?

You can't. Unless you can tell us otherwise./go to the land registry and enquire? Whatever the differences, all of us should work together to solve the problems.

Sue is looking for positive feedback here. For some closure on her situation. It is a disasterous situation for her and her family and for others on the development including the Chittocks.

If you can't give us some feedback then (I am very sorry to say) butt out of this thread. If you can give some constructive comments, and talk to the landowner then I would welcome you doing that, and give so much credit to you. So before you post comments. Think..... can I help? Yes I can/OR/No I can't!

So Nige show us what you are made of?

Kind regards

Kay

On who`s assets ? Oscan or Reg.

Never heard of Mehet Besok, Whats his part in all of this.

If it is Oscan assets, surely the people who have contract signed by him and Reg may have a new lead to follow!

Sue as I have said before, these people (who are pivotal in the this scandal) are far too cute to leave their assets lying around in their names, for others to take. As you know I have been down various routes with Recep, Oskan, and the other "Arcihtect" Partner in the failed business, to ascertain whether there would be any merit in proceeding with an action against any of them. Unfortunately, everything is against us:

1. The Lawyers are completely useless, they fail (or are scared) to listen to your instructions.

2. The Lawyers fail to research matters properly (despite your instructions), and come back to you with a bland retort... "Oh we cant find that out, or you don't want to go down that route because of X, Y or Z". Stupid, ridiculous reasons which go back to being scared. Or, they don't come back to you at all.

3. Most of TC's are related or know the mother/father/brother/sister/uncle/aunt or cousin of the person in question, hence their hesitancy. Why bother to pay them money, they have a conflict and should declare it at the outset. They don't of course because they want your cash.

4. Even if you get the Lawyers to do the job they are actually being paid for, and haul that person before the Courts and get a judgment on their assets, your efforts will not be rewarded because it is impossible (under current abysmal legislation) to enforce it.

5. You are back to square one. Pockets lighter, and once again the perpetrators of the scam get off.

6. Having registered your complaint at PIO, you think??? (yeah right) that you have a two-pronged attack. PIO and Lawyer. Wrong again. PIO has solved nothing. PIO was set up to soley pacify the expats. It paid lip service to the problems. It was a Government backed scheme to stop the expats revolting, or marching. Nothing else. It has been useless.

7. I liken Cyprus to a game of snakes and ladders. Now we know who the snakes are, but you will find yourself at the bottom of the ladder throughout the whole game. Blame the crap lazy good for nothing Lawyers, inept and useless legal system for that. No protection at all for the purchaser.

8. It's not all doom and gloom though. Well........ it may be for the perpetrators of scams such as this? We can only hope? Things may change dramatically in a short time, as I believe the whole of Cyprus will be in the EU 1st January 2009. That will be excellent news for all purchasers with current difficulties. This current useless shower of a Government will not be able to get away with the ostriche mentality that it has presently towards foreign investors. It has a clear policy of "come on in an invest in TRNC, spend your hard earned cash here.... We will milk you for all you are worth, you will get no protection, and f**k you if you dare to complain" attitude. That is the reality of the situation now. I hope those days are numbered, and IMO bring it on EU membership. Gone will be the days of a lawless society. They will be accountable. Gone will be the days of criminals hiding in the backwaters of what was previously TRNC.

Oh Yes BTW Nige and I have a history. But we love each other really Don't we Nige? x

Mehmet Besok I believe is Nigel's neighbour who he had trouble with previously, but I will leave it to Nige to tell the full story here.

Sorry not been able to get to the Gym but following the accident (for everyone else - I slipped on a wet ceramic tiled floor getting out of the shower and sustained severe injuries to the chest wall) have taken longer than I, and the GP anticipated to heal. I still have pain lifting the shopping bags out of the car. So for the moment I am not going to push myself.

Take care.

Well written Kay,would love to believe that becoming part of the EU would be a "cure all" for the many problems you have highlighted, however it has not proven to be so in the South and they have been in the EU for some time now.

Hiya Spook well IMO anything is better than the corruption/inadequate laws/lack of protection that the TRNC Government and SOME of its TC residents hide behind just now. Only time will tell eh?I can only hope that they will be dealt with appropriately!

There must be a way to get the snakes off the board and get to the top of the ladder ! If only we new how, all our problems would be solved and we would be living the dream. Some one must know.

If not lets try Monopoly - do not pass go and go straight to Jail. (even then they would have a get out of jail card)

There are many who have been fighting for over 5 years now to get a solution from some corrupt individuals who frequent N Cyprus - It does appear however that the louder one gets the more p***ed orf the Administration of the TRNC become - but lets face it, when it goes wrong it goes really b****y wrong !
