Hi Russet,

We are currently building/about to build 4 pools. 1 in Alsancak, 1 in Arapkoy, 1 in Esentepe and 1 in Kara Agac.

The only customer who lives here is the one in Kara Agac and I can put you in touch with him if you want.

The last pool we completed was for a British customer who is an architect in Oman. I can also put you in touch with him, if you want.

We built 2 pools on Karpasia - one at Number 3 and one at number 20.

Octupus Pools are an excellent company

They also distribute the Aligator system of water purification which I have had for three years now and works extremely well. Minimal chemicals needed and very easy to maintain.

The pool in Kara Agac and two others are programmed for completion in the spring, i.e. at the beginning of the swimming season.

Our pools are built in stages with payments due as stages are reached. Most customers don't want to pay in full for a pool handed over in, say, February but not have the use of it for a few months as the weather is too cold for swimming.

Vaughan, is your guarantee still only valid if the client uses you for the pool cleaning service?

Our pool was built by our buiders with the skimmers too low.

We asked Octopus if they could raise them and they were reluctant to do it as the pool didn't leak it was just ugly.

Cyprus Pools have just completed the job for us and it looks fantastic and doesn't leak. They have monitored it at every step, the workers were professional, clean, tidy, efficient and very pleasant.

Couldn't fault them at all. They continued to monitor for a week after the job was completed. In our opinion THE BEST POOL COMPANY ON THE ISLAND!

Would recommend them to anyone and they did not charge a fortune to do the work.

also message 13 if all pools are left to complete at the beginning of the swimming season then there is too much work at one time and a danger the final stage is rushed or there is insufficent skilled labour available.

Rocky,

The steel work, shuttering and the pouring of the swimming pool grade concrete are the most costly items and make up the first stage payment (deposit). If we don't cover the cost of these items in the deposit, we can find ourselves out-of-pocket if, for whatever reason, the customer decides not to proceed further (it has happened).

We don't rush our work and we schedule our skilled labour.

alligator system that never worked properly and turned our water green its fine now we dont use the damned thing any more and last but not least our patio is not level with the pool hence there was no covers on the gulleys as they would have been at an angle.Great job not wouldnt recommend them to anyone

msg 19,

I am not aware of these problems with your pool (I'm not sure I know who you are or where your pool is) and I am surprised that your Aligator doesn't seem to work.

Please contact me on 0533 845 8494 so that I may attend to any issues you may have.

Vaughan,

Ask Billy whose pool you left like that. You know exactly who I am!

We've been quoted £5000 to lift the patio and put it level. Unless you're going to come and put it all right, free of charge, we don't want your help because it would probably end up worse than what it already is. Not to mention the fact that I couldnt stand the mess that you would leave, from past experience.

I still wouldnt recommend you to anyone.

Dennis/Susan Anita,

I am in the office now and have discussed this with Billy. He is no more aware who you are or where your pool is than I am.

If you are not in TRNC and don't want to phone long distance, please e-mail me on octopuspools@yahoo.co.uk so that we may get to the bottom of your issues.

Vaughan,

You cannot please all the people all the time but I am always suspicious of people who are vague. Beware of competitors. I am pleased with your work and will recommend you to all my friends. We have no problems with our pool.

Thank you.

Catalkoy speak to CYPRUS POOLS.

They have just raised and installed new skimmers, re-tiled the top two feet, after waterproofing it as the builder put the patio in too high which meant that the top of the pool was not waterproof, replaced the coping stones, levelled the terrace on one side of the pool and all for much less than £5,000!

Clean workers and left the plot immaculate.

Can't recommend them highly enough. Speak to Eren. Definitely the best and most professional pool company here.

zhivago,

msg 29.

I do not "always say" a pool will only take 8 weeks to complete, to get the order. I have said a pool can take 8 weeks, weather and workload permitting. Besides, it is not I that controls the speed of building of a pool, it is my partner Billy, who readily admits that although we build a very good pool, we don't rush the job to get finished and paid.

We are currently building 4 pools and repairing another 5 pools that leak (built by others, not us) and as residents of TRNC will tell you, this winter the weather has not always been that conducive to construction work. We always endeavour to complete pools in time for the swimming season.

You say..."not experienced it myself but thats what I have heard."

I believe that's known as heresay, which is a bit of a favourite on Cyprus44.

Okay, I have read all the recent and past discussions regarding Pool Companies in the TRNC.

Next month we will begin searching for quotes to build good sized pool, what is considered a good price for a pool now days.

Depends what you call a "Good Price".

A better term might be "Good value for money".

Some people confuse "cheap" with "good value for money". They aren't the same thing at all, as I'm sure you know.

A cheap pool that leaks might be described as having a "good price", but it wouldn't be "good value for money".

Repairing other firms "good" pools that leak is one of the biggest parts of our business.

We would be happy to quote you for a good value for money pool and can show you many examples of our work.

We can offer you a free, no obligation survey and quote, if you require one.
