My family and I have just got back from 2 weeks in Northern Cyprus which were absolute bliss. Only disappointment was that we had been hoping to go to Vaha Spa for dinner one night. We went during the day to check it out but it was a ghost town with ‘for sale’ signs everywhere.

Does anyone know whether it has shut or whether we just turned up at a bad time?

Vaha Spa is up for sale and is therefore closed until/if a buyer comes along.

I hate to say it, but it was only a matter of time and an idea ahead of it's time.

I did think that a spa idea wouldnt really catch on there at the moment. Shame, someone must have lost a lot of money on this.

It's a beautiful place but totally out of touch with the reality of the TRNC market - a great shame.

It's a real shame - I won £50 voucher for Vaha in a raffle and opted for a massage which was lovely. I used to go to Nirvana Spa in Wokingham and found the prices at Vaha about the same. Personally, I think it was a little overpriced for the TRNC but how sad after all that investment for it not to work out.

I never went to to the Vaha but I have heard it was a fantastic place. My friends Parents were Chefs there.....its a shame as people have said a little ahead of its time and probably a bit expensive.

Times are tough, not just here its global, what amazes me is that new shops continue to open at the rate they are.

Your friends parents are to be complimented enormously. My wife and i went there for dinner on valentines day last year. The quality of the food, surroundings and service was stunning. Real gourmet food. The skill of the chefs was amazing. Expensive per se, I guess, but not for what was produced. Wherever they have moved on to, I wish them every success as they deserve it.

Also just remembered 5 Mile one of my former favourites also seemed closed on the 2 occasions we went there in the evening. Anyone shed any light on this one?

Strange - they were at Excel Property Expo yesterday with a glossy brochure selling hols and villas and apartments - mind you it was worrying that they didn't really know what a PTP or kocan was, nor did some of the other exhibitors. The company was fronted by an Asian Guy, not a TC in sight on the Vaha Spa stand

The company was:- SUNBEAMS ESTATE AGENTS and the partner was a Mr Abdellazim Karrar. We don't know if they are registered on Mr Sungur's exclusive (?) Estate Agent list as a sole company or whether as many have joined under the umbrella of another company
