As a confirmed Philistine and lover of this Forum I had to make another posting.



Tonight we went to the new amphitheatre in Girne to see the above. Thought it was a ticket to a Cypriot dance thing initially.



First is the new place, brilliant but if you go make sure you take a cushion to sit on!!!!!



Second if you get the chance to see this group do not miss it.



The theme of tonights presentation was of a young girl drawn into drugs and the consequences of same. I will not give the game away but this was modern dance at its sublime best. The choreographer made a speech at the begining about the hardships of trying to present "culture" on the restricted budgets of a pariah state. He need not have worried.



I was so enthralled by the performance that it was almost hypnotic. The interpretaion of the story was brilliant, the interpretation of the music was superb. I could go on with the adjectives.



As I said, this was modern dance, but do not be confused, it was absolutley brilliant in concept and presentation. I am hooked and given another chance will be back for another show whenever.
