Have received two letters recently from uk (both personal and handwritten) both had been opened and resealed (very badly) with sellotape! None of the official mail we receive (ie bank statements etc) is ever tampered with. Anyone else experience this

Have always been recommended to use brown envelopes as nobody touches them. Maybe it could be thought it`s birthday cards with money inside.

In TRNC " "they" should open every letter and parcel (and I won't object in any way) - to make sure no drugs are sent. TRNC is one of the last places (in or) near Europe where fighting drugs hence protecting youth is taken seriously. Well done, very well done, TRNC.* * I've seen enough of places where it's different.

I have read several times on this forum that TRNC residents have mail problems, lost, delayed or opened en route. It may not be everyones 'cup of tea' but PO Boxes in the RoC can be rented for about 30 Euros a year. Mail (including parcels) to the UK takes less than 4 days normally and about the same from the UK. It's got to worth a thought? I rented one four years ago and I have never had a problem as have a couple of my pals since and they have been problem free too.

It could have opened/been open in UK.I worked for Royal Mail for 10 months back in late 90s (didn't like to be told what to do after so many years self employed)and seen far too many unsealed or sealed but not tightly and opened itself mails.Since re-sealing is not very secure we used to sellotape them.

Have to agree with message 8. PO boxes in the ROC are the way to go. I only ever send or receive mail via the South. Not rich enough to put up with the pilfering in/en-route to the North.

doggiesteve,re-11; TCs (we) are CYPRIOTS and have every right to be in whatever part of Cyprus they'd want to be. As for ' human rights etc etc etc'.......one that was so concerned about that would have bought/lived in RoC. ps.feel free to flick it off.

We don't like this fact but we can't pretend it isn't true. |
