Has anyone used Mermaid for curtain/blind making or can you point us in the right direction of someone good who will make up and supply fabric?

Have used them to make all the curtains when we first bought our house and since then when we changed our colour scheme, very pleased with them, excellent service and price.

Great thanks for that. Just to check we have the right shop is it on the right hand side of main road going out to Esentepe? maybe karakum/catalkoy It is set back from road and is large building? If it isn't mermaid what is it called?

Mermaid Fabrics are indeed where you describe.

I have used them for various services over the years, including some bespoke curtains and soft furnishings and the service is second to none.

They will also make furniture to order.

But I will qualify that you get what you pay for.

Top dollar, top service from a well established company.

I have just had a Victorian wing back chair completely refurbished with Mermaid Fabrics. It had been trashed by grandchildren and dogs over the years. I have also had curtains made by them in the past. Their work is excellent, and I am thrilled to bits with the chair.

We have used The Curtain Shop (opposite Astro,, Girne) for the past 10 years. Excellent. I believe that it is the son of the owner of Mermaid Fabrics.

I would highly recommend The Curtain Shop in Girne, Hussain is the owner who will make sure they are made & fitted to perfection, he is very helpful on fabrics & design. Pop into the shop first, have a chat with him then get an estimate.

Agree with msg 2 and 3 -Try Hay Hay Perde in the parade of shops next to the petrol station in Karakum,the owner is called Yusuf Telek and they do very good deals on all curtains,voiles,blinds and bedding etc .I would not use any one else.They can be contacted on-0392 8150491, 0533 8517187,0533 8451790

Sorry to go against the grain but my experience with "Mermaid Fabrics" was most unhelpful and really offhand! Would highly recommend a shop not too far away from Mermaid called "next door" - they are next door to Baspinar Car rental and will make anything you want and are the best priced that i know of in the area.

Our whole house curtains were fitted by mermaid, we were not pleased with our sons bedroom blind, and they re-made it without any problems. But i have heard there are smaller business's giving quality, but quite a bit cheaper than mermaid.

I used Mermaid for main room curtains and they were fine. NOt cheap though!
