I am sure that if Princess Diana were still alive she would have been invited...I thought I read a few weeks ago that she was to be invited to the ceremony but not to the reception............ now it seems she is not invited to either......

What you get when you were married into a dysfunctional family, nothing like a wedding reception to bring out the best in people.

She's no relation to anyone there - I don't think she should go.

Obviously had Diana been alive she would have been invited, she was the grooms mother, but why should the other freeloader get an invite. Most families have at least one relative they don't invite to family functions, I know mine does.

Having tried to sell stories in the past to the media about her life with the Royals,we have to assume that they, the happy couple, do not trust her not to cash in where she to be invited.

Now then Coops, you should know by now that I invite myself to all my family gatherings, having said that there are a few I would rather have passed on.

Yes she is the mother of the Queen's grandchildren, so why not. Probably be the most fun person there so they should be glad to have her. Although personally I cannot understand why she would want to go to such a boring occasion.

Fun? I would imagine spending time with Fergie would be about as much as fun as watching paint dry.

The Royal Family are probably worried she'll try to sell photos to Hello magazine

Her daughters will be there, so why shouldn't she?

So long as she promises not to suck anybody's toes, I do not foresee any problem what so ever.

Yes they should have invited her to the wedding. I am sure her daughters will be disappointed she cannot once again attend. She did have a close friendship with Diana & she loved William. I think she has been punished enough & humiliated. After all look at some of the others behaviour, Prince Charles & Camilla!!!!

Meerkat - don't you think she has brought a lot of this humiliation upon herself? In fact, wasn't there yet another cringeworthy incident not too long ago?

As for Prince Charles - he can, apparently, do as he likes. He's the heir to the throne (God help us all).

Personally, I don't give a monkey's whether she goes or not; it's hardly going to make much difference to us mere mortals, is it?

so .....when the two young princess get married in a few years time will it be acceptable if the Queen, Charlie and Camilla are snubbed and not invited?.........it would just make the two princess' life much easier if they could all rub along nicely on Royal Occassions .. ..........It is these two young princess that will suffer in the long run - who are the adults here???

shrimp - "make the two princesses lives much easier"? I'm sorry, but I don't quite see how much easier their lives could become. They cost the taxpayer fortunes in Royal Protection, which people like you and I pay for, as far as I am aware. I admit that it must be hurtful at times to see their mother "left out" of Royal gatherings, Christmas, weddings, etc. but I say again, their mother has brought this upon herself. If she had behaved with some semblence of dignity, I feel sure she would not have been ostracised in the way she has been.

I also feel that a large percentage of the public are already up in arms at how much this wedding will, either directly or indirectly, cost the taxpayer. Can you imagine how much worse this would be if "Fergie" was invited? Insult to injury springs to mind.

I must apologise for message 31; it was posted by me, not Paul. I didn't realise he was signed in when I posted.

He will be horrified when he sees that he has, to all intents and purposes, posted a message regarding the wedding of Prince William

PaulW, I sort of know what you mean, but those girls are now going to suffer for something that wasnt their fault...they too will have weddings, christenings, and other special occassions and unfortunately these will be spoilt by the sins of their fathers.....As for Charles, talking of dignity etc........he has got alot more to answer to than Fergi,....... I am surprised William is inviting camilla if historial facts are taken into the equasion.........

The cost of the Royal Wedding is going to be huge for sure, but most of it being met by the royal family and the family of the bride, the only thing the tax payer is paying for is the security, but apparantly the amount of revinue bought in by the royal wedding far exceeds this so it will be a good thing economically for UK.....

Revolution is burning across the Middle East, oil prices are rising pointing at a global crisis - yet we have threads about some has-been 1980s former Royal and whether she should go to a wedding!

Let me just check if I still have anything between my ears...
