Freezer door seals playing up. Problem is getting worse.

It is pretty new. Six or so months old.

I know that a little frost can be expected in the freezer compartment but today it looks like Santa's Grotto!

Anyone had problems with the door seals and how did you fix them?

The seal seems to be OK and I ensure that the door closes properly. Doesnt bump open when the main fridge door is closed.

A visual does not reveal any tears, leaks, kinks or any obvious failure.

No hot or overly warm or wet items placed inside.

Doesnt happen all the time, say once every three or so weeks.

Any clues? It is doing my head in.

Hi ,

I wouldn't even consider fixing it . I would get the Supplier to pick it up + replace . You normally get a 2 year gaurantee . So far Arcelik have been really good with us , no returns , but they've been out a few times to Washer + it was us who didn't know how to work it .

HP .

Thought about that. Returning stuff here is usually no problem.

Just thought a quick fix may have worked.

The problem would have been far more serious should the main door fail. That is where the beer is.

Thanks

Hi Skogsy,

If you live on the Medview site at Esentepe, you will have Bosch white goods, I think you will find they are now out of guarantee and you will need the Bosch engineer out to the freezer. Can I ask if you are a new owner as the committee don't seem to have any record of you living there and therefore cannot keep you up to date with the monthly newsletter. Can you let me know off board your address on site, so that we can make contact.

BW.

The fishing thread has been done before. Great fun. Make contact? ET Phone Home and Jodie Foster come to mind. Great movies.

I stuck my head into the problem and fitted two washers on the bottom pivot. Just lifted the door enough to let the seals engage correctly. I could have called the shop but DIY is a whole lot easier and less hassel. Took five mins.

I am sure your newsletter will make great reading. It is a good idea for those living/owning on a development. Keeps everyone up to date.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
