on saturday our rottweiler dog went missing from our home in esentepe .we were out at the time and at first i thought it had ran off again. only today when my turkish nieghbour arrived home he said he saw someone put it into a car. he was just coming from work late saturday and as his house is around a hundred yards from my home he asumed it was me.. we think it was taken for breeding purposes as its just came to age for this type of thing. anyone noticing a waist/thigh hieght new arrival rottweiler dog to anyones home please call 05338384636..all vets ,pet shops,local police have been informed. please all sightings of this type of dog will be taken seriously and a reward offered if the information leads to my dog being recovered .. understandibly we are all upset ,as will be the dog by this upheaval and change...

PLEASE DONT POST ANYTING NEGATIVE AS MY YOUNG SON WILL BE READING THE REPLIES .

We had a male 'Rottie' puppy stolen in 2005 - we never saw him again, despite exhaustive enquiries. These 'locals' only want them for 'puppy farming' and usually keep them caged. A pity yours is so friendly - I'm sure all contributors to this post wish and hope he would latch onto this bloody thief's 'dangly bits' and not let go!

Just an idea and a bit of a long shot but why not put a classified ad in the local papers asking for a male rott to breed with your female.. You might just get lucky and catch the sod..

I'd suggest contacting Kibris newspaper and asking them to run a story, it seems lately they're constantly putting pieces about lost/missing dogs. One with a nice picture of your young son and Tojo might get a response.

Predictable that some pompous people on this board have NOT taken my words for what they are, kindly meant - but decided instead there is a sub-text! As a parent, I would not have wanted my child, when young, and who loved our dogs, to read our pet had been found mangled on a road somewhere, or some other horrendous happening had occurred. I would want to read that before the child did. THAT is what I meant, about it being unwise for a "young child" to have access to this thread, or indeed other threads, some of which are not for young children to read. I thought it went without saying, that I hope alongside everyone else, the dog is found healthy and happy, as anyone who reads my postings knows we have always had dogs, and I am very much a dog lover. I feel very concerned for animals that cannot protect themselves from abductors that may cause them harm or traffic they cannot understand how to avoid. I obviously hope this innocent animal remains safe.

racoonchic - do you know where your dog was going to when he ran off before? If so, might be an idea to check that area as someone might have spotted him then. Now that he is older and breeding age they have decided to take him.

there is a florest in karaoglanoglu on the right hand side coming from girne towards tempo. go down the road about 100m and there are aload of apartments being built on the right. there is a little pen there were i saw the dog 2 days ago.

thanks dandd3 .. the dog there is living in disgusting conditions.. i called kar and reported it to them .. i went to tempo and got it a cooked chicken and went back and fed it . poor thing nearly choked it eat it that fast.. whats wrong that people lock the dogs in a 2x2meter pen and never clean its waste out .this dog was lying in its own crap and its fur was falling out as it had some sort of skin condition.. im going to call kar again tomo to see if they have done anything.. the owners need to be fined heavily.

im in esentepe. a vet from lefkosa call me today as he has customers in kaplica who have kennels and told him about tojo. so lets keep it up there.. i cant believe a guy looking for an i phone gets a sticky and something as important as this is ignored by izzet. i emailed the board and still havnt had a response from them.

You have not e-mailed the 'board' you have e-mailed Izzet and as previously explained to you Izzet is a busy person and will not check his 44 e-mail on a daily basis.

To be honest with you a sticky does not always work as there is nothing to prompt viewers to keep looking at it. At least with continual posting on a non sticky thread it will keep it more active and people will keep checking to see what has been posted (as long as it is not continual BTTT's which turn viewers off straight away).

Just some advice and I wish you luck in finding your dog.

I have telephoned the head of Guzelyurt & Lefke Veterinary Dept. he will keep Tojo in mind and tell his staff. He is a pal and will call me if he hears of any news he also suggests the you place an advert in one of the Turkish speaking daily papers with a photograph if possible, with a heading 'Missing childrens pet.'

Hi racoonchic. A house just around the corner from mine had a german shepeard and a rottweiler, now he has another rottweiler. It was late and rather dark so i didnt get a good look but it was a rottweiler that he didnt have before. He lives in Ozankoy. U no where rafters is, go down and you'll come to Leylak sokak turn in and go straight. You'll see a house with dogs outside. Its worth checking out xx

Ive just had a look, the german shepeard isnt there and nor are the two rottweilers. Only a BIG dog in a cage (i forgot to say that there is also that dog) But. . .in the other cage there is a kennel and i could hear crying. I called 'tojo' but all i could hear was a dog crying. I know that the guy has another house (idk where) where he brings his dogs so they could b there. He also lets his dogs run around his land which is next to his house but i couldnt see any. He'll probs get the dogs back in his garden tonight. I hope its tojo :(

ive just been .. its not tojo and he has a great dane in a pen that the dog can hardly stand straight in. a litter of new rottie pups and the female in a same sized pen and a male rottie tied up in the garden.. thanks leyley.. xxx

I lost my dog before in Karmi and found him in Karpaz(not joking) by giving advert on Kıbrıs newspaper..

Someone always notice the new dog in the neighbourhood so if you thinking to do the same ,

put a photo of your dog too , it will be very helpfull...

Hopefully he will be back with you soon with all these lovely people looking for him, when i come out in a few days i live in catalkoy but outside the village i will take walks up the mountain way where i know some goat farmers that are always having different dogs up there im sure for breeding purposes and i will keep my eyes and ears open for you.

Just maybe someone who knows something about Tojo's whereabouts might be reading this , and just maybe they will realize by now and with all the posts , that he is a much loved pet who is missed by his family , and just maybe they have a consciounse and do the right thing and orchistrate Tojo's safe return , the little boy is grieving for his dog , c'mon do the right thing give hime back , nobody needs to know who you are just give him back . Make this the day you make a family very happy , it will make you feel good too doing the right thing
