How about Chateau Lambousa market in Lapta on a Saturday morning. You could also post details here as I would be very interested

Then there is Soyz market , Catalkoy on a Sunday morning. Maybe you could leave some in the supermarkets where Brits go, or put them on the noticeboards at the supermarkets. Or quite a lot frequent certain cafes, and if the owners did not mind, youcould hand them out in there. Or even leave some in the bars and restaurants that the English go, especially those that have darts teams etc.

And why not get one of the people who do radio shows to announce it.

Otherwise, I don't know. Good luck.

Hi Josie

Sounds like you are new to NC.

The markets are a good idea and also this forum. Would be good to hear which area you are in as well and where you intend to give these free fitness classses???

Josie, good try but English people and fitness classes are like oil and water! I'm only joking

Any of the markets The Carpenters - Karaoğlanoğlu (Fri), Château Lambousa - Lapta (Sat), Soyz - Catalköy (Wed & Sun) and err, all the watering holes... Mon - Fri, Sat & Sun... they are the ones who need it the most.

When you hand out your leaflets maybe you could ask the recipients to dispose of them in an environmentally sympathetic manner. One thing we hate here is litter. (This bit is no joke)

You would canvass an awful lot of them if you advertised on here...

Thankyou, all you helpful people xxxx

Joandjelly - Will try & get to the market you suggest. I have posted details further down the forum page.

Maz - Thanks for the other market, will try & get there too. Are the cafes they frequent, mainly in the harbour?

Smooth - Thankyou for your post. Believe it or not, have been here a little while, but have just realised if you want a job done you have to do it yourself!! My employers say & do different things. My classes are in Duet Academy near Jasmine Court Hotel. Have posted details earlier on the forum. You need to get there quick as they won't be free forever.

Lilli - Thankyou too - Will have to look up BRT & ADA as haven't heard of them before. Thanks for the contact name.

Good luck love, I only wish the class was at different times so I could come. Drop some to me at Guidos Alsancak as most of my ladies love yoga and pilates, try Jasmine Court as the gamblers who come , the wives may like something different. I wish you all the luck , you deserve it xxxx

The cafes I was thinking of are in the Belediye Squyare by the Car Park in central Girne. Plus of course there is molly's Bar near the Pia Bella. Harbour is O.K but not so many go there.

Put some leaflets in Coffee World down the High Street (know where itis). I am sure Cine Miles much further on would take some.

Or if you are brave enough you could stand outside some of the supermarkets (obviously not all at the same time!) and hand them out to English folk who look as if they could benefit!

I should think by the time yhou have done all this you will be fit as a fiddle anyway.

Thankyou Maz - I'll do all the places you recommend. I'll see my response before I brave the supermarket as having done that in the UK has scared me off a bit!

Yes, I think I'll be lying down by the time it comes to teach the class!!

Truely grateful for your help xxx

Josie1 - not at all offended :0) I thought perhaps you meant English speaking, which is why I questioned the wording, so as you would correct it, thus hopefully increasing your bookings - good luck.

How much will you be charging for your classes Josie (once they are not free)?

Unfortunately I don't set the prices, you will need to speak with Duet Academy direct. I believe they charge 250 TL for the month (3 classes per week), but they may do discounts for groups.

Feel free to come along & join in first to see if you like it. Hope to see you there xx

So what on earth happened to you, Josie1 in U.K at the Supermarkets? Sounds scary.

As to prices, ouch! £100 a month is my pocket money for the month - maybe I will give the freebie dancing at GAU a go, and leave the Pilates to others. Done the yoga anyway, but can't get my legs in quite the same twists as I used to.

Reckon everyone has given you enough advice to get those leaflets out there. It would be intewresting to learn what the return is. i.e. what percentage of leaflets given out result in customers in.

Maz - It is a lot but please don't be discouraged as the boss at Duet often negotiates on the price. You sounding as nice as you do I'm sure you can sweet talk him around if you wanted to do the Pilates. Otherwise come to one of the free sessions. Forgot to say I also work at GAU - Stage School & there is free Pilates trial there too next Wednesday eve, if you want to come along.

Supermarkets & generally handing leaflets out in person in the UK has been scary. Had all sorts of rude comments & sometimes people have taken offense as they think I'm being rude to them by giving them a leaflet on exercise! So decided it's best to leave them in a place where people can choose to take them if they're interested, that way I avoid any abuse.

Yes, people have been very helpful on this site & I will follow all the advice I have been given. I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again Maz

Good luck Josie1 but 250TL is way too much for 3 classes a week. I am currently paying 135TL for the same.

Yes, I totally agree so I will talk to Duet & get the price down. Please still feel free to come to the free trials though.

Josie, you are a sweetie, but I will stay with the free dance I think. One of my problems is lack of ability to commit to anything regular. One is enough. But who knows, later.

You made me laugh as to the story of why you found U.K supermarket handouts a bit scary. I can see why. If you hand it out to the 'beautiful' people they think they are not as good as they are, and if you hand out to the fat and ugly, they don't want to be reminded of how they are.

Takes a real adult to see themselves as they really are. so,quite understand how you felt. Reckon I would be the same.

Good luck with the leaflet hand out, and hope your boss gets a lot of takers. Seriously, it is about all I can do to walk the dog.

No problems Maz, I completely understand. I'm grateful to you for all your helpful replies/posts anyway.

Supermarkets - yes, you are exactly right with what you say. Maybe I should borrow your dog & then I'll be brave enough to do it!

No seriously, I have a good list of places of where to leave them now & I'll let you know how it goes xx
