Hi Bindall,

Are you aware of the service charges at hilltop, as they are pretty hefty?

Hi Bindall,

No I don't own at Hilltop but I do own at Medview Esentepe. The homes are very well built and well finished off inside. If you don't mind paying the service charges then you should be ok at Hilltop as the area seems to be developing well.

Hi bindall,

We used Naomi and she was charging £1250.00 in 2006 so maybe a little more now. We found her professional but I think if you shopped around you could get cheaper. Some advice, don't use the lawyer that Medview reccomend unless you are buying a resale of course.

Bindall,

We have bought a 2 bedroom / bathroom apartment at Hilltop Village,Bogaz and we love it so much that we are moving to the TRNC next week on October 1st.

Hilltop has several communal pools and a Restairant/Bar which is run by Apo & Dogan. The food is delicious and they also have entertainment nights such as Gypsy brothers ,Karaoke and BBQ nights which are very popular.

Bogaz has a small but pretty harbour with a few restaurants, one or two bars and The Bogaz Hotel.

Bogaz is convenient for trips to the Karpaz and there is a beautiful beach and hotel at Bafra ,which is only 10 minutes drive.

For property around the Bogaz area,it is best to contact Busy Bees estate Agent, situated next to The Bogaz Hotel .There are a few resales and new properties available.Their website is http://www.busybeesestateagents-cyprus.com

If you buy direct from Medview make sure the price quoted is the ACTUAL price you pay. Ensure it includes vat, white goods, air con, water and elect hardware, keys etc

Hi bindall,

I would say it will definitely go up next year. Wages up and electric up. Ali Safa keeps saying he is subsidising most of his sites??? So can't see it remaining the same but this will apply to most sites of course.

To the Butler's Wife

If you don't have actual proof that Medview are going to increase prices can I suggest you refrain from rumour mongering, as this could only have an adverse effect on owners and future clients' investments.

Thank you

Cruella

It is impossible to prove that something is going to happen in the future, in any part of life, otherwise we would all be zillionaires. All I think the Butlers Wife was trying to emphasise was that there was a very good chance of a price increase next year.

As a gambling man I would bet a fair amount of my hard earned that prices everywhere will go up next year but I cannot PROVE it until it happens.

Hi Cruella,

I am sorry if you think I am rumour mongering, that wasn't my intention. I am only saying that with all of the wage increases and hikes in electricity prices, I am being realistic and think that everyones service charges will go up, not just Medviews. Bindall remember to add on your council tax and property tax as well to get a true figure.

Hi The Butlers Wife

Thanks for pointing that out, of course all prices go up next year with inflation. It is of course up to owners to get together and refuse to pay very high increases that can not be justified with genuine reciepts. Its just a shame that when someone knows what the charges are and are very willing to buy a property, some people still like to get a dig in at Medview.

Bindall we have heard nothing about a painting fund and if one was suggested most people would not agree.

Hi Crueller

Thanks Crueller but as I am paying 1250 a year for a detached house in Kent UK I find it hard to pay almost the same for a place in the north for just a few weeks a year. It seems that the prices are as high as the south when it should be a lot cheaper as there are not in the EU yet. Sorry if you think I am having a dig but I came to buy and the apartment but was shocked to find that the prices have gone so high for the community charge I think 500 would be plenty for a year And the information I received about the painting fund was from an owner from a ground floor apartment at hilltop when i was there.

Thanks for your help Cruella (Marion)

oh cruella , i don't think you need to be accusing the butlers wife of scaremongering , it is a fact that there are substantial ongoing increases being experienced by all , the butlers are valued members of this forum and cannot be accused of scaremongering

Once again to the Butlers wife I am sorry if I caused offence, what I really wanted to say was if someone wants to by from MV or a resale they now know the score and that maintenance fees are high, when the likes of you and me bought we were told that the fees would be around £475 so its different and we should encourage people to buy because at the moment our property is worth less than we paid for it.

kind regards from Cruella
