Hi

I am trying to create a Recovery Disc as suggested by my computer but when starting to create it a while ago I realised I did not have any blank DVDs so had to abandon it.

I now cannot find this part of the programme again please does anyone know how to access it?

A quick search has come up with this

Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security >Backup and Restore.

Click "Create a System Repair Disc"

Hi thanks but this is not the same thing it will take 3 discs & will restore the m/c to factory settings in case of a breakdown.

Is it a hewlett Packard machine? They have there own programme to do it I believe. Anyway have you typed in recovery in the search all programmes and files box that comes up when you press start. Doing so on mine found the HP programme I mention above.

As Harold sates, you are probably referring to the manufacturers recovery method. This is different from machinbe to machine, i.e. Acer's inbuilt program is called eRecovery. The end result is often the same, i.e. you have a set of DVD's that allow your machine to be recovered (usually wiping all data) back to factory default, with all manufacturer provided freebie apps.
