You obviously have no idea what these protests are about or why they are happening doggienige, i suggest you read up on it.

In The UK the Government would just resign under these circumstances if they were to happen, you should think before posting such drivel.

You will have to stop reading the Mail. It is doing your thought processes no good at all.

I would be more worried about it happening here in TRNC.

Could you find enough people in UK interested enough to leave the TV and the football grounds to actually wander the streets protesting about something they know nothing about anyway? Most of the protesters against the government have already left the country anyway so what would be the point?

Indeed waddo, the petrol protests were a pathetic shade of what they do in France or elsewhere and they actually get change.

There is no comparison between the terrible situation in Libya in relation to the UK.

So that has been the plan all along, create two new religions and both will keep the peasants from revolting. Now if you took away televised and live footy the country would collapse in hours. What a frightening thought.

Msg 13 - lets see now? In 2003 I was working for the Civil Service in support of the Military on a military base in the Midlands. I did not march as I was paid by the Government to support the government and assist all Military action in anycase. It would have been a little stupid of me to take the money with one hand and wave a "Boo Down with the Government flag" with the other hand - and that only if I did disagree with the military action being taken in the first place! When I was in the military myself I took the Queens Shilling as I had promised I would and did what was asked/ordered of me - that was my part of the bond between myself and the Queen - I did the same in the Civil Service. So, where was I - working for the country and proud of it.

Exactly. The French have a bit of attitude and fire in their belly and don't take kindly to being told what to do. You've got to admire them for calling their authorities to account and forcing action.

They're not some third-rate former world power that now comprises much of the scum in Europe, and that's why the English hate them.

England now consists of football style politics, you get a choice (ha) blue ,yellow or red. It doesnt make any differance anyway as we are now ruled by the European Union. So settle down and carry on watching the X factor and the football. You know it makes sense..

having been intouch with steve trenfield,he is not on any of the forums so it could be a certain person from another forum out to cause trouble for him yet again ,who in the past made malicious statements about him which when checked out by his lawyer were all found to be un-true, and legal action is now pending..

Hippo - "I was only obeying orders-now who were they that used that excuse? " I would think just about everyone in the military who has been castigated by the general public after any event they did not agree with.

Kipling best described "Tommy" and what the public wanted from him - the crap the military has always had to, and always will face, has never changed once those they serve and protect are safe and warm, tucked up in bed.

Never forget, as you sip your G&T in the comfort of your safe haven that 99% of the military serve because they want to, first and foremost. But unlike those in other occupations they must maintain honor and trust their comrades with their lives - that is a requirement that the non-military mind can not and will not understand. It is not a case of blindly following orders. But to try to explain further would be - as we ex/military types say - a waste of rations!

The original post misses the main point... we (the UK) can get a change of government at every election if the public can be bothered to get off their backsides and vote for change.

That they largely can't be bothered says a lot about the man in the street. It also leads to some very bad members of parliament getting in, as those with strong political views form a disproportionate percentage of the electorate... Therein lies the conundrum!

If they can't be bothered to vote they deserve what they get... and if they get what they deserve they hardly have an excuse for demonstrations leading to riotous assembly.

So the answer, as I'm pretty sure the poser of the question already knew is, no!

Groucho. Agree all you say. Unfortunately the apathy you identify now appears to entend to the whole voting system. Many of the bad members of parliament are there from positive discrimination and the like by the parties and a Manifesto becomes meaningless once elected. Instances of vote rigging keep increasing but bring little penalty and any small outcry is hushed by "no comment as it is now a matter for the police". Rarely have the police come up with any results which lead to swinging penalty or adjustment to voting results. Could that be because the police have to answer via the CPS and new masters ? Democracy is fine but only when delivered without corruption.

If she was the wife of 'steve trenfield' whoever he is, you'd hope she'd have been in more than touch with him!
