I wake up this morning to do some work on my computer, but realise I exist 4 hours ago because that is what I am told by the computer clock on the bottom toolbar! I've checked my computer clock settings and "yes" I am set for Athens and İstanbul time (GMT+2 hrs). What's worse, even the online clock http://www.online-stopwatch.com/online-clock/ is showing the time as 06.07 at this time! Am I overlooking something very simple or is there a general problem?

That is weird, Ralph96! Do you think this may have something to do with me watching the "Men in Black" last night?

yenibob; No but I have watcehed the mini version from Turkey called "Çember" - lucklyfor the contestants I think it had gone off the air after 2 weeks!!! In any case the only word I know in Albanian is "Enver Hoca" Groucho; Thank you, yes I do know how to change almost everything on a computer - the problem is, when things change on their own accord without any user interference. I can't help but start making science-fiction scenarios

Scubaboy9; Thanks, I had thought of that but the fact that it was exactly 4 hrs difference (to the minute) made me think it would be too much of a coincidence. Anyway, I'll replace the battery and see what happens.

Exactly 4 hours does sound strange, I guess the other thing to do is monitor it for a few days to see if it stays at 4 hours. Mind you as you say changing the battry won't do any harm and they are cheap.

Oz, '4 hours exact' doesn't sound like the bios battery... more like you've installed something that synchronised your display time to a server somewhere else in the world. Has is remained stable since you corrected it?
