Got in from work, had the day again from hell. My dogs became hudinni. Call from the neighbours to tell us. Guido leaving in the middle of service. God my customers are so understanding. We moved to this house 2 months ago and the sods have established one door has a weekness. Anyway He went to get them back to their duvet and one is missing. Bertie the pointer for those of you who remember. The one is only one step away from me. Guido now is aware of the customers and came back assuming Bert would do the same. Half an hour later he is lying in my neighbours drive hurt, hit by a car. Of he went again to get him, the guy with the best road sense in the world when he was dumped on me. Anyway Vets here he come. The leg wasnt broken thanks be to god, but sore , 5 stiches, injection and tablets. Sorry the movi was called Darfur. Its broken my heart. To see what goes on there. I knew a bit as I read a lot and last 2 books reflected on the region. If you can please watch it. Just stoped cryi

I just reading Jodi Piccoult's Handle with Care, as my daughter is working on these problems at Yorkhill Hospital. It also depresses me, and then I watched The Tudors which is always compulsive for me, but also horrific. Why do we watch things we can do nothing about? You've had a nightmare day and I hope you can relax and get a G & T or something and watch a really relaxing dvd, or listen to beautiful music. Love xx

If you can make any sense of that good on you. To relax with Bertie we took a DVD. Called Darfur. It is the saddest thing I have seen. What I was trying to tell you and yes I have had a couple of wines, is that I had read about the situation there but this film confirms it. How many others suffer the same fate. My mind is so upset as I know it really goes on. Please get this movie DARFUR. No person on this planet should suffer as they do x

Last time I was in NC I thought I would pass a few early hours of the morning as it was too hot. I watched The Notebook and spent most of the film in floods of tears and much of the day as well it really is sad. Sheila

So glad Bertie is more or less ok. Why do you do it to yourself Liz, watching sad movies? I also love the Tudors on a Sunday night, I find that whole period in History fascinating. Will be on soon so goodnight to you all.

He knows where my soul is xxxx. Now I will put Italian TV on that is so amatour dont tell him I said that but we do laught at it now |

R.e. msg 1.Lilli, Why don't you start your own blog??Like " On the Island" Then if members of 44 won't to know about your daily activities they can log on to that instead of using 44 as your personal diary. IMO it would be a good idea.I mean, still use 44 for your advertising and useful info on cyprus like directions, local news etc. I'm sure it would be a success.

Message 11 - neilhodgin What a brilliant idea - I'm sure lots of Cyprus 44'ers are thinking the same. If everyone put on their own doggy hard luck story, how much each and everyone of us did for charity etc etc, Cyprus 44 would be full of useless information! Cheers, Lesley

Rosie you lost your bet. Neil Great idea but haven't got a clue how to do it. I agree and I did apologise for going off on a tangent last night. I was so emotional re the dog and was having phone calls during the film I totally lost my thought thanks also to a couple of glasses of the grape juice. However if you do not like a subject please do not read it. Philnles we try to home animals which are abandoned. as for charities they have to be promoted otherwise who would help them

I agree charities need to be promoted but you are always promoting yourself which is different - lots of people help abandoned dogs and support charities without self-congratulating themselves on this forum! Lesley

That is amazing Lilli you are reading same book as me! My daughter told me I would understand her research if I read it as she's working with medium brittle bone kids. That child was an extreme case and it is painful to read, but I have to. Have read My Sister's Keeper also, as my daughter, who never read anything but science book, actually read a novel after a girl she met on holiday told her what it was about and I must say, it is also a page turner, (if not exactly great literature).
