In 48 hours, nearly half the British mass media could be bought by one of the world's worst media moguls.

Sign the petition to stop him!!!

Yes, I've already signed, cy girl, it would be an appalling control of the media.

Imo you aim at the wrong target. It shouldn't matter who owns a news paper, TV station etc. The problem is that Murdoch can tell the senior editor and journalists what and how to write. If they don't 'behave' - he, Murdoch, can dismiss the senior editor etc. THAT is the problem in the UK. The content of a news paper is none of the owners business - the content belongs to the journalists and their ultimate boss: the senior editor. The senior editor should be a democratic choice of the journalists and he can only be dismissed if the majority of the paper's journalists decide to do so. That's why I call news papers in Holland independent - not submissive to the owner or a political party. If you had such a situation in the UK you wouldn't have to worry about Mr. Murdoch - he won't own more than 50% of the mass media anyway. "Brussels" will not allow that.
