| I need a new fire place surround, my old one has split and a piece fallen off. I do use it as an open fire over the winter, so assume it is the heat that has caused it. The question is, what is the best surround to have, which of the above is less likely to split, and do you know any firms that fit them. Railroad |

| Either can be used for fireplaces but marble should have expansion gaps. ie: It shouldn't be fitted as one piece for a hearth. That was the advice I was given in the UK by my neighbour who owned a fireplace company. Speak to Cyprus Marble they do both granite and marble. You go to the shop or you can look at the stones in their Ozankoy workshop. |
