I recently bought a sliced loaf from one of the local supermarkets (own brand) and later that day I made cheese sandwiches for my partner & myself. Whilst he was eating his, he suddenly spat the bread from his mouth & it was covered in blood. When we looked in the bread, there was a jagged piece of glass about the size of a 25 kuros coin with a distinctive pattern around the edge! It had seriously cut his tongue open which bled for about 2 hours. I can only assume the glass was in the bread as I would of noticed it when spreading the butter & grating the cheese. How can I officially complain about this, I dread to think of the outcome if a small child had eaten this?

i would have thought the first thing you do is contact the store you bought it from so that they can remove any further stock from sale while they look into it, and then if your getting no where think about trying to complain to an authority

Which supermarket? I believe that the store manager should know about it. Since he is not the one who makes the breads. And also is the bread supermarket brand or from a bakery?

surly if you look in the bread now it would have glass in it could not be in one slice check the loaf out if there is no more then it could have been in one of the other ingredents or one of your storage units there is no come back here thats why you have to be carfull what you buy and were you shop not just food

I took it back & the manager said it must have been in the flour they use. They apologised but didn't even offer me a refund for the loaf! Then blow me down but tonight I opened a new tub of clover & put some in my jacket potatoes and when I took the first few mouthfuls, I had to stop as it tasted of industrial cleaner! My partner's was ok as I had used the remains of the other tub in his. Bought from a different store, I will be taking that back tomorrow!

This sounds, definitely, like two unrelated cases of industrial sabotage - what else?

Unlucky or what! I remember years ago finding a sachet of shampoo in a pint of milk....it couldnt have fallen in, it would have to be squeezed through the top of the bottle. United dairies wanted me to hand it over to them but I took it to the trading standards and got a hamper full of dairy products in compensation.....quite a few years ago though now...

I once had a worm in a salad bap. Complained to the shop, and they offered compensation if I didn't go to trading standards. Four tiny cakes!!!
