‘TOJO’, male Rottweiler dog was stolen from its home in Esentepe Saturday 19 Feb, he is black and medium tan very friendly. Story and picture was in Cyprus Today yesterday Saturday 5 March.

Hopefully now in paper more people may come forward with more possible sightings.

From all that I have read - there is no definite proof the dog was stolen. We all know that twice in the last few weeks, the owner has posted two different threads telling us the dog had broken its restraining rope where it was being held in the garden, and ran off - so maybe it did so a third time? but this time, hasn't as yet been found OR someone has found it, and kept it. No living thing wants to be restrained. I know (BEFORE there are five million posts berating me for merely repeating what has been posted on the board anyway) the dog was tied up for a reason - until it was trained, because it was a stray that had been taken in and its provenance and character not known, but a Rottweiler is a very strong animal, so lets hope it is found safe and well soon..........

MsGarnet if you had read the previous thread properly you would know that a neighbour witnessed someone putting the dog into a car and driving off so I think it is fair to assume it was stolen.

the thing that strikes me is that this seems to have been planned. You do not just come accross a dog and decide to take it. Who knew it was there? Who knew the owners were out? I just pray that he is found very soon. We have been out in the car this afternoon, round Dikmen/Taskent areas but no sign of a rottie anywhere. Hope everyone keeps looking.

Msg 12 - must have been the only post I missed!!!!!! I think it is another good reason for animals to be spayed or neutered and that information written on the dog's collar if not also, on the gate, in Turkish and English - so that IF an animal is stolen for the purpose of breeding - once that is read, they would leave it alone. I just hope whomever has the dog, is looking after it well...............

Is he micro chipped, surely whoever has taken him they will need to go to the vets with him so notify all the vets if he is even take photocopies of his picture & get them spread everywhere. You never know it is worth a try. I really hope he is found soon!

Ricky, Ive just found out this afternoon my Irainian neighbours rotty (Zana)! is pregnant again! Ive no more info at the moment but I will ask him a few "choice" questions tomorrow when I see him mate.

He works nights so wont see him now till the morning.

please keep looking guys.. out walking..a different bark in the area.. stick your head over the wall and see .. this dog was on antibiotics for an infection so if anyone who knows who took tojo at least take him to have the urine infection treatment continued.. petcross knows about this..if your not going to bring him home at least look after him xxx

spoke to someone today who said theres a market in the south for this type of dog...he was the last one to see it so my eyebrow raised slightly when he also told me he used to breed theese dogs and he was supprised how dosile mine was..
