Hiya!

I am a 30 year old married women with children and myself and my husband are thinking of moving over sometime this year.

He is from the North and his family live there so i have worried about moving i was just wondering if there was many ex pats there the same age as myself etc.

I have a few friends here in the UK and was wondering how easy it would be to make friends there.

It's very easy to make friends here, so don't worry about it. People are much more open and friendly here. I'm always speaking or waving to people I don't know, and I'm not a very friendly person.!!!! You will soon get to know your neighbours and most people in your street, even if it's only to wave and say goodmorning. Then it's up to you if you want to make friends of them.

Hi nickyb,i agree totally with stellasstar1,it is very easy to make friends here, both ex pats and the locals and having children, you'll find that you'll meet a lot of other mums at the school and they will be around your age.

also, having the internet will keep you in touch with friends and family back in the uk,

all the best to you

Yes, the school is the first starting point. You immediately have much in common, and then there are several local spots that put on special events for kids, such as Easter Egg Races etc, etc, and then there are little organisations for children in various villages.

In fact, depends on where yhou live now, but the chances are you will meet more friendly people in a short space of time than in many palces in U.K.

Good luck with the mov e.

Most people are friendly. Be careful of those with an agenda.
