I don't like the Scouse or Geordie accents. A very strong Brummie accent can be annoying. Essex accents are pretty bad too!

I personally dislike Northern Ireland accent and bladdy larndan and the south east. Understanding a Glasgow accent is totally beyond me. No offence meant to anyone from these areas. I love to hear the Brummy accent

The worst accent of all is Brits trying to speak French... hah! I was taught French by two people grammar by one an Oxford Languages Master of Arts and conversational French by a French woman from a suburb of Paris... Needless to say, when speaking in France they fell about laughing because unwittingly I developed a colloquial style akin to Cockney... they loved it but being 15 years old, I was crestfallen....

Hearing some ex-pats speaking "Turkish" can be a real hoot... We overheard a couple of old ladies in the Cafe De Paris saying "Tescos" to waiters so we asked them what they meant.... "I think it means thankyou" one said, she had heard someone saying tesekker and this was her approximation... we were able to them her out with a few more meaningful expressions...

Grouch, that was funny 'tescos' can you just imagine it? I wonder how they would have said 'merhaba' to someone? The mind boggles.

i love having a good east london accent. for some reason people seem, in ther ignorance to think that those with london accents are stupid. cockney rhyming slang is great fun, and not used that often anymore. we taught both our boys it when they were small. its sad when a tradition dies out. a lost language so to speak.
