QUIZ (10): Again I have divided a picture of (part of) an historic monument in TRNC in 20 squares...

▶ The two questions: WHAT is it, WHERE is it..?!

▶ I'll fill one or two squares at random times - but there'll be no winner in this Quiz if in the end I have to uncover more than 15 sqyares...

▶ Here and there I'll give a cryptic hint or some info in this thread...

▶ The prize in this Quiz: an invitation for two for an "Historical Walk of your choice.

OK, here we go again: expats and swallows, show your knowledge about Northern Cyprus... I hope to see new participants in this thread...

▶ ▶ ▶ Click this (shortened but safe!) link to view the Quiz-picture: [ http://is.gd/CrfIm4 ].

P.S. Level of difficulty of this Quiz: EXTREMELY DIFFICULT...

HINT-2: I've made one of the covered squares on the Quiz-picture a "hot spot" ( = clickable). Find and click the correct clickable square and you'll see an important hint... But, although you can see the text - I bet you can't read it...

Sorry Hans, not had too much time today - busy stripping in the front room (old habits die hard ;-0)

Had a couple of vague ideas which I followed up but nothing worth risking your wrath for a bad guess.

@ Darrener2: You're excused.

@ Bill: the British community in Northern Cyprus is waiting for your next brilliant idea. Your problem is that I don't belong to the British community.

Msg 21, Jetski: No. Msg 22, Tootie: Maybe. Msg 23, Woodspeckie: No. Msg 24, No1Doyen: Bill, your behaviour has definitely improved. In previous Quizzes you tried to score petty points with answers like "It's in North Cyprus" and this one "It's in Girne" is a lot better. Keep trying, but don't use your power as a Moderator to change previous posts in this thread after I've givven the solution of this Quiz-10... Msg 25, Clarissa2: Oder was? Falsch!

END OF QUIZ-10, because I had to uncover more than 15 squares (Rule in message 1). This is a great day in your Quizmaster's life: NO winner!

The correct answer in this Quiz-10: Pictured is the entrance (with a typical waterspout) of the Ottoman Turkish cistern on the once large "Baldoken Graveyard" in Kyrenia. You may notice that the cistern shows the usual TRNC tourist attraction inside... (I've uploaded more pictures of the cistern. One has St Andrews Church in the background to make it easy to locate the cistern).

No use to copy or rewrite the text which is ready available on the 'Net. Check the links below if you want more background:

June 5, 2011: Updated the info about the Ottoman Turkish fountain/cistern on the once large "Baldoken Graveyard" in Kyrenia (behind St Andrew's church).
