Maureen Fellows is getting well known for her stalls at Lamboussa and Soyz Bar where she is aiming to get 5000TL for this charity which supports 38 children with cancer and the families they have . The charity offers treatment, support, and much more, as wlel as planning for the future to have the first ever hospice in Northenr Cyprus for all cancer sufferers. There are plans and a possible plot of land - the government is about to finally pronounce on that!

1st April is Flat Day for the c\harity and for the first time this year Kyrenia will be collecting as wlel as Nicosia. Last year nicosia raised 15000TL. What will the generous people of Kyrenia give.

Hopeuflly outside supermarkets and other places, tins will be available for you to drop in your loose change, or if you can spare an hour or two, you could shake a tin too! We need more people. I am trying to cordinate this, so if interested, ring 0542 882 4313 - e mail marionstuart@hotmail.com, and then..... next message

I think its so good that you are raising awareness. I hadnt heard of this foundation, but its a cause close to my heart as my sister had a bone marrow transplant. It was only my curosity that I got talking to Maureen whilst looking at her books on sale that I asked about the foundation. Marion if you want to drop a tin in to me I will do my best to get it filled.x

Thanks Lilli. I certainly will (when I have got one). Perhaps you could leave it on your counter for a couple of days. Actually there are two ways with tins - there are the large ones which shops/restaurants/offices keep all the time, and then there are the smaller ones for the Flag Day.

I can also drop in some leaflets so that people can read all about how the charity came about.

I am hoping to get Mr Saracoglu , the father of the lad Kemal who died at 12 because of a (political) mix up in getting treatment (By the way a child from the south in the same position was fortunate enough to get the treatment). The Foundation will be 10 years old in November by the way, and the charity which Mr Saracoglu started is now run by others. But I hope he will come to the Quiz and share a few things. This charity is just not known to English speaking people but it is time it was. Hence Maureen and I are trying to do our bit this end. Thanks for the offer. See you soon.

You might like to know that Maureen is taking bookings at her charity stalls at Lambousa and Soyz Bar as at next week-end, and already some folk have said they are interested.

Anyo9ne out there who doesn't get to the markets, is welcome to contact me to reserve a place for what we hope will be fun and a financial success for the charity.
