Could any one with a good knowledge tell me the best and safest place to invest £50 to 75 sterling and what interest rates to expect.

Steve,best place could be crediwest,still offering 8%.

Safest place if you fancy a bit of a flutter is premium bonds, you and Barbara could get £30,000 each and hope to win a decent prize every month.

Premium bonds are now a mug bet. They used to be really good giving a tax-free return better than many bank deposit rates if you held the maximum holding but these days holding anything more than a few is no longer worth the punt.

This is due to the massive reductions in payouts...

Steve you could pit it with the money you won with 5 and the bonus ball the other year

Groucho,at least they are safe,we won £300 this month,£100 last month,£50 in January.A mug bet would be getting 0.5% in the UK banks.

Speak to Scott at Astute FMA as they have some good investments and can advise you and if not happy you can walk away- no pressure sell!

Re message 1,

If the £50,000-75,000 is all you have you should not invest it with just 1 organisation, you should spread it about a bit this will minimise the risk should the worst happen.

In fact you should really spread it about a bit that is one of the basics of investing.
