| with commuters in London face chaos from a strike on the underground, I asked my Turkish colleague to translate strike into Turkish, she said it translated as Belediye, is this true? |

| hi there stavros i promise im not stalking you L.O.L, the word you are looking for is GREV (strike) or grev yapmak (going on strike) i hope this clears this up for you |

| Honestly UTurk, I have lived here for nearly two decades and know what belediye means, it was a little bit of English humour comparing striking with the work input of our local district council LOL maybe they are a bit more efficient across the water LOL So to say "bu belediye her gun grev yapmak it looks like". will be put into my Turklish phrase book |

| you can say that it translates to 'this council everyday wants to go on strike' or if you are complainig that the belediye dont do no work another sentance would be like this: bu Belediye çok tembell ve Çaliskan degil the belediye are very lazy and are not workers i think it would sound better saying the latter L.O.L remember Ç is pronounced ch |
